Get some sand paper and fix the handle.

Also, don't use your child as a reason to sensationalize your post. (Most of us have kids. It's not GM's fault your kid cut their finger.)

its a cheap part just fix it. sorry to hear about your kids fingers but damn I think this is a huge overreaction. I've been in several nnbs an haven't seen the handles do this all higher mileage daily driven but they were taken care of. Its simple wear and tear though.

Seriously??? Overreact much? It is only chrome peeling on a handle.

If this sets you off then you should sell it and buy a Toyota. BTW, I have one, they aren't that great. Way more problems before 100,000 miles than any GM car I have ever had. I will not be buying another one. I guess the door handles are still OK though.

I agree. I've never owned an import vehicle other than an opel gt but I won't be buying one.

Lol! If that happened to me as a kid, my parents would kiss my boohoo, put a banddaid on it and gave me a machete to go clear trails in the woods for our ATV's.

Part of growing up is getting hurt and learning to deal with it. Same goes for parents, learning to deal with a child's injurys apropriatly. Not ***** and complain its someone else's fault.

Maintain and repair your vehicle and that wouldn't have happened.
How do you know that your kid hasn't been sitting back there picking at it for months, creating the problem?

What would you do if Johnny smelly butt stuck his finger on a hot brake rotor? Complain there wasn't a warning sticker and guard on them?

Easy doug ... he might sue you for hurting his feels.

I set mine up without inside handles. Kidnapping hookers go better that way.

Sorry to hear about your childs fingers, but honestly, it could have been yourself or your grandpa.

Not everyones handles are bad (mine at 107,000 miles without issue), but if you are having issues, I'd just get them online and swap them out myself.

Exactly. 70K and I have a rough spot on one, but it's not peeling, nor do I have an issue with any other handles. I just don't touch all of my door handle and it's like it doesn't exist. I freakin' WISH my Yukon's biggest problem was ****** chrome handles.

So, you contacted GM to complain about a car that is now an old body style, which you bought used, at well over 100K, from either a first or second owner, and you're upset because your kid cut his finger on the door handle? If they want you to pay diagnostic to replace it, that's not unreasonable. You've only owned it a few months.

Would you complain to McDonalds that his french fries were too hot, and he burned his tongue, too? Or maybe to Stride Rite when he falls and trips because his laces came untied?

Call GM when you go into limp-mode and lose power on the highway, or when you're 100 miles from home and you can't get in your truck because it died overnight, or you discover oil pressure issues, or your throttle body goes out.

Buy new interior handles and call it a day. Shit happens when you buy a used car, get used to it, with the list of complaints you've written so far, you'll have a long road ahead of you.
