That's a great little DVD system for the money! No, you can not use the controls power source as the power source for the dvd system. It's best to pick up power at the power distribution block on the driver's side. You don't have to throw away the controls either. They can be moved off to...
Yeah I've heard of him and plan to contact him once I get more goodies ;) . I just can not believe the difference. I mean you always hear there's a huge difference but until you FEEL it you don't know what you are missing. I guess I should have known this since I took my completely stock...
Well, I scored an Intune for $200. I updated the unit and flashed the Denali for extra firm shifts and the Diablotune. OMG did that ever make a change in things :favorites37: Next up will be intake and exhaust then a custom tune.
More than likely it does. My '01 Silverado has it. You have to take that black cover off in the footwell area. Then you will see a cover thats about 2"x6". Unscrew that and you will find 2 filters in there. that's got me thinking I should change mine again lol
I've done extensive work on the Passlock systems in these GM vehicles. Google my screen name and PASSLOCK and you will have hours of reading. I would bet you have something else going on with the battery draw. I know many of these trucks have issues with battery cables rotting on the inside...
Yes, Alpha-therm are an awesome group of people. Feel sorry for them that GM put them under the bus the way they did.
All of the vehicles that I put their units on that originally had the GM units ALWAYS had the factory mounts still there. The dealers were instructed to just unsnap the GM...
Well, I was bored and grabbed 2 sets of these from one of my suppliers. Install wasn't too bad. I ended up grabbing power from the dome light + wire at the BCM. I used a relay to isolate it though because the lights wouldn't come on right away when you opened a door.
Popped off the door...
I believe there's nothing you can do with the buzzing unless you either wire around the BOSE system or get another radio. I know this issue was covered by I believe PAC with a similar issue. Ended up being the way you wire up the system. Some people would use both speaker and RCA outs causing...
Yeah well I love Metra's install/mounting kits and most of the wiring stuff except when it comes to GM vehicles. They have way too many part numbers and then have so many pieces and parts for them that it makes it a pain to install. I prefer either PAC or Maestro.
I don't have any pictures but have done a bunch for dealerships. It's pretty easy. I like to get 3" masking tape and mask off the general areas I want to mount them. I then partially let down enough of the headliner to see if there's any obstructions. If there are, I measure around them. I...
Depending on the display and what's all up in the headliner, I usually just wedge a piece of wood up there then fasten the dvd to the wood. I do like to if I can, get at least 2 screws through the wood to a support brace. In extreme cases I've had to take the whole liner down and glue a large...
The LC6i is a great piece. It should work OK. It probably won't matter too much with the Audiocontrol but personally I would grab the signals BEFORE the Bose system. That's how I hooked it up in my Saturn Outlook until I just couldn't handle the crappy GM radio anymore. ;)
