Who paid Onstar or is it worth it Or 4g service Is it worth it.

I don't have On-Star, don't have Sirius/XM, and have not paid to have on-board GPS updated. These are a total waste of money, IMHO. Via a smart phone and Bluetooth, Pandora (or your own playlist) is the better radio, and it's free. As for the GPS, Google Maps is far, far superior for navigation...

    Now I think I understand

Seems to imply an air leak, if there's buffeting with windows closed. Rear liftgate seal perhaps? I can only imagine how annoying it must be. Only buffeting I do is at Golden Corral. Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk

Help with bad reviews on 2015+ Tahoe's

My 2016 Tahoe LTZ has been perfect so far: 30 months, 60,000 miles. But I will add: for such a large vehicle, seating is surprisingly limited to four adults for all practical purposes. The rearmost "seat" is for novelty purposes only, and should never be used to seat humans over 4' tall. Sent...

    Fire Extinguisher Mount?

Just for the record, I have used an in-vehicle fire extinguisher three times over the years. In each case, the fire was extinguished with minimal damage to the vehicles. Otherwise, they most cetrainly would have been total losses. In one case (my truck in a boat-ramp parking lot), an...

2019 Navigation Upgrade .. Is it worth it?

With the advent of modern smart phones and Google maps, today's vehicle-based navigation systems are a complete waste of money. The same could probably be said about smartphone/Pandora versus vehicle-based SiriusXM. The day will soon arrive when on-board navigation and entertainment systems...

    Oil Change

I change mine when the oil life monitor gets to 10%, whether it needs it or not. Local Valvoline Instant Oil Change place wanted $132.95 for oil/filter change. Chevy dealer gets $79.95, and throws in a tire rotation. I change mine myself. Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk

Who paid Onstar or is it worth it Or 4g service Is it worth it.

Features on my 2016 Tahoe LTZ that I have absolutely no use for whatsoever: - Onstar (may change my mind if I ever have an emergency and no cell service) - Factory navigation (Google Maps instead; OEM nav is worse than worthless in comparison) - Sirius/XM (Pandora instead) - OEM bluetooth...

Best bang for the buck upgrades.... New to Chevy...

Roof rails, from GM. Now I can haul ladders, my kayak, etc. Easy install, cost < $200, IIRC. Also, Weathertech cargo mat. Also GM floor liners. Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk

    Towing a U-Haul trailer *concerns*

You didn't mention it, but have you considered your trailer ball height? A 5x8 trailer is likely to have a tongue that is much closer to the ground than is the Tahoe hitch. I use an 8" drop ball on my Tahoe to tow my 5x8 trailer, and I still have to take care going over certain bumps, because...

    Questions about Brake fluid.

How much fluid is needed for a change? Would one bottle (12 oz?) do it? Or does it take more? Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk

    Questions about Brake fluid.

Thanks for the heads-up. I probably would have missed it otherwise. I've gotta do a better job of keeping track of scheduled msintenance! Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk

    Roof rack cross rails

Hmmm...You could be right about the price... it's been a couple of years, and besides, Ive got "CRS". Anyhow, it was an easy install, perfect fit, and they work well for me. Someone with a heavier load, say a 90# canoe or pirogue, or something, well YMMV. Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk

Smoked Taillights - Looking for Recommendation

I dont get it. Why would anyone want to intentionally make it harder to be seen after dark, or when applying the brake? Never mind; rhetorical question. Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk

    Roof rack cross rails

I got OEM...cheap price on ebay ($100 or so). Easy install, even came with a little torque wrench allen tool. I find them very sturdy, hauling my kayak without issue. Highly recommended. Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk

    Rock broke windshield...

Thanks, everyone. My camera seems to be "calibrated" just fine. I'll pass on getting dealership involved. Last time they changed my oil, they said I needed a $169.95 "injection system flush." I passed on that as well. Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk

Would you buy your Yukon or Tahoe again?

Id buy mine all over again. It's the best vehicle I've had in my 50 years of driving: 2016 Tahoe LTZ, bought new August 2016, now has 40,000 miles. But then again, if I was doing over, I'd buy used one-year old Tahoe, and save 30%. Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk

Do the 2018 models have the booming/buffeting/vibration issues?

40,000 miles on my 2016 Tahoe LTZ, no trace of buffeting. I installed roof rack cargo rails when new...dont know if that had affect or not, but have never, ever, noticed buffeting; not even once. No trace whatsoever. Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk

    Rock broke windshield...

...in my 2016 Tahoe LTZ. Insurance dude and Chevy dealer both say forward-facing camera needs to be "recalibrated" after new glass is installed. Safelite glass dude says no recalibration necessary. Both lane keep assist and auto-dim seem to work fine. Anybody get theirs recalibrated? Anybody...

    Warranty issues? Experience with GM?

I bought a new GMC 2500 van a few years ago...the wheels all had the Chevy bow tie logo, and one of the rear doors even said "Chevrolet" on it. AFAIVT, there is no real difference among any of the GM brands of the same model Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk

    Radio comes on automatically

What the heck has radio got to do with phone? Pairing with phone does not require audio to even be turned on. I would think Bluetooth works independently from radio, video, nav, et al. At least it does on every other vehicle I have ever had. But, I guess this explanation makes as much sense as...
