Temps dropped about 30° overnight (12° this morning) and suddenly I have no heat front or rear. Any ideas on what would cause this? Coolant level is fine. It’s very confusing that both worked last night and now this morning neither front or back work
In my opinion, if you’re ordering something custom, I’d go like 35mm up front and like 30mm in the rear. That also depends on how small of a tire you can run
This is a x10 13mm offset with a 275/25/28 just for reference. The fronts would stick out way past the stock fender
This is with a 295/30/26. Front fenders are pulled. Rears have the fender lip cut off. Not sure how much you’re lowered but this is pretty much the extreme as far as static with big wheels goes. Wheels hit the firewall pretty hard and made it a nightmare to make even somewhat tight turns
On stock suspension, any x10 should be fine. 10.5 might be okay in the back with a smaller tire. If you’re lowered more than like 3/4, you’ll most likely get into rubbing issues up front
This is a 26x10 +31 with a 305/30/26
You are going to spend BIG money on something that rides only marginally better than those. How are you lowered up front? If you took out any rings, you could flip the strut to the bottom of the control arm and add rings back to get shock travel
Scored a 08 Escalade about a year ago. Rebuilt the engine and put the PPV brakes on it. Been dying to pick up something that gets better MPG but the wife doesn’t like driving in small cars so I’m just sticking this out for now
If I have another issue and messing with the fuses doesn’t fix it, I’m going to switch to LED’s and run all new wiring to a different switch. I’m back to working 60 hour weeks so I really don’t have time to keep pulling the bumper and messing with chasing down electrical issues
Wild conclusion. I never in a million years thought it would be a fuse with the way the lights were going on and off originally then worked fine for a while. Well I was bored and checked the fuses. Both look fine but I NEVER trust how a fuse looks. Decided to switch them to see if the problem...
08 Escalade. My driver side headlight was going in and out and finally stayed out. I changed the ballast with an oem one and drivers side headlight worked but pass now stopped working. Turned truck on and off a few times and both worked for about a week and now the drivers side is back out
Is...
Have you tried a little test spot of glue? Usually the instant adhesive stuff dries very brittle and can/will come apart when you hit bumps or the dash rattles for whatever reason
Depending how accessible the cracks are, I’d do a drill point at the end of each one then hot staple the crack itself just so it doesn’t get worse then get a dash carpet. I put one in my suburban and it fit super nice
Currently have a broken exhaust manifold so I’m thinking about buying the Speed Engineering long tubes. I’ve seen horror stories about their Y pipe fitment but not much about the headers themselves. Anyone here run them or any other budget(ish) long tubes? Not looking to spend $3k on some Kooks...
There’s some really badAsa Vette’s and G8’s in my area and they all sound insane. Has anyone ever seen an SUV sound like their 6.2 car counterparts? I’ve never been able to figure out what makes the two sound so drastically different, even when trucks have full exhausts they don’t sound like the...
My 08 Escalade gets a whopping 6mpg right now. It has an exhaust leak at one manifold but I really don’t think it would make the mileage be THAT bad. Pretty aggravating to have to put $120+ in fuel in it a week when I only work 2 miles from home
What that man said ^^^. He sent me that thick a$$ pipe and it got welded in. Zero issues with axle tube clearance or anything like that. Perfect width for the frame rail too
Like 98% of 24” wheels that are 6x5.5 are 10” wide and +25-35mm offset. So unless he has some custom one-off wheels then my comment holds plenty of weight.
This is a 3” drop with a 28” wheel. Its 1” taller than what you want to run and it rubbed slightly at the front of the quarter panel so you should have plenty of space with a 295/35/24
2/3 would be about as low as I’d go with a 295/35/24 to avoid having to trim fender liners, fenders, etc. You might have a slight rub if you hit a dip at full lock but it won’t be anything major
Thanks man. It was fun documenting everything and showing what’s possible when you don’t give a F lol
Honestly, nothing. The truck was such a headache for 5 years that it kind of killed the love for cars for me. I thought it was nice until I bought a super nice condition nnbs Escalade then...
I’ve had nothing but BSers for months now so it just sits with no tags in my yard. Someone lowballed me by $3k over the weekend and I accepted. He said I’m sending you a deposit Monday morning and will arrange transport… he’s now MIA not answering calls or texts lol
