Adding to the many mileage posts. Full tank just topped off. A whopping 276 miles. I still haven’t gotten the transmission serviced and I’m thinking my likely failing torque converter is contributing. Still, she drinks what she drinks and so far I love her. (Will love her more when I finally pull the trigger on a supercharger. Then I’ll hate her while I shop for a new motor and trans. Then I’ll love her again until I do something else stupid. Like doing the SierraKon conversion. lol.)

My 07 Yukon XL Denali is a thirsty beast, as well. But, I knew that when I bought it, and personally, I don't care, as it is such a pleasure/fun to drive. I'm sure that it will be even more fun, once it is supercharged.

These aren’t THAT bad on gas. They could be a Freightliner lol

But 276 miles seems low? Or does the 39 gal fuel tank I have just make the difference?

My 14 has a 33 gallon fuel tank.. So even just in town I can get about
330 miles per tank depending on climate etc
IDK how many gallons the OP's tank is... but that's crappy mileage IMO
no matter what

before I bought one I was researching and found if you drive them in stop and go city rush hour/ soccer mom hell in 100deg summers where you prestart it all the time and need to idle a while. you can legitimately see 10mpg, especially if your not driving to save fuel. 6.2 needing 93 with that mileage made me 2nd guess my life haha

My 08 Escalade gets a whopping 6mpg right now. It has an exhaust leak at one manifold but I really don’t think it would make the mileage be THAT bad. Pretty aggravating to have to put $120+ in fuel in it a week when I only work 2 miles from home

Yaaa… something sounds like there is an issue somewhere. This type of range means the average mileage is low single digits (towing type mileage). Not sure but that’s just me and I’m more on this site to be the nagging random person that says a lot but of little value… maybe every 1000 words equate to a penny of knowledge?

Has OP done manual calcs yet?

the exhaust leak actually sucks in air and that makes the o2 sensor report lean, so it runs richer than it should. the easiest fix is a clamp you can bolt on to take its place. I use one on mine?

also being that short of a drive is ******* mileage, never gets a chance to really warm up and cruise. that said 6 is pretty bad, maybe check your alcohol content %? sometimes it drift high and makes it run rich on gas too.

I work about 6 miles each from work and the yukon gets about 2 to 3 more mpg when the wife drives it than me cause mine such a short drive.. well 3 short trips with lunch runs. that said, she drives so much further overall it pays for itself when she takes the other car even if I get less mileage on my loop. your trip is actually perfect for a plug in hybrid. I can go 3 months without putting gas in my volt till the wife takes it haha. but still gets 40 when she's on gas.

^^The exhaust leak can adversely affect the trims. Short trips are also notoriously bad for gas mileage. Have you looked at short- and long-term fuel trims lately? Does it even go into closed loop on the trips to work?
