Brand new my cost from the dealership is around $600 for everything the last time I bought one brand new, plus you got to get the caps painted still. I think $400 shipped is fair. Shipping is going to be about $50 probably. I will entertain all offers. So PM me if you got something in mind.

run it till it goes if u want. if its cold why not. sometimes even new ones make a lil noise. they r hit or miss. it might even just be the clutch or tensioner. worst that can happen is compressor seizes and smokes the a/c belt.
i just replaced a complete engine harness in a 05 escalade. should be about the same harness. it was about $750 for the harness and i charged 4 hours. wasnt too bad to do.

yea pretty much. if u have 4x4 u will have to unbolt the front diff and let it drop down...dont unbolt the axles and it will stay up there. crossmember has to come out and then theres a harness on the front with one 10mm bolt, a clip holding trans cooler lines on passenger side and 2 bolts on on...
no it wont fall apart. in fact i drove a tahoe today with the same exact noise. its the intermediate steering shaft. common gm problem. u could try to lube...use lithium grease not wd40.
