Blue Behemoth Build Thread (01 Yukon XL)

So the tune up, along with the Airaid intake tube (200-912) and TB spacer woke the motor up a bit. When I installed the TB spacer, I noticed a small river of oil dribbling out from the intake. I cleaned it all out, but made the oil catch can the next on the list.

Wouldn’t burning all that oil compromise the cats, sooner or later?

Power Stop brake kit or OEM NNBS?

Interesting. So you had the NNBS stock front brakes that is NBS guys put on our trucks, and you noticed a difference in the Power Stop setup being even better?

Nice. You wouldn’t recommend an OEM used one?

    Electric fan conversions

Thanks a lot for the links. I had read through one of them pretty thoroughly, but completely missed the other one (install into an 01), super informative. My Yukon is an 01, So its very helpful, idk how I missed it before. Good point on using stock harness, just have to make sure not to get one...

    Electric fan conversions

PM’d ScottyBoy for some price quotes. Anyone know the part number for this harness and fan otherwise?

    Electric fan harness

+1 I’m interested in both the harness and fans.

    Electric fan conversions

$220 for the harness though... ouch. Are there any other options? I heard Black Bear sells these harnesses too, no?

Blue Behemoth Build Thread (01 Yukon XL)

Indeed, no time to waste. I plan to install the intake tube and throttle body spacer today. The drop-in filter is still in the mail, ordered the Afe - Pro Dry S filter.

Blue Behemoth Build Thread (01 Yukon XL)

Ah I also recently installed a Flowmaster Series 70 (Big Block II - Delta Flow) muffler, along with a straight through resonator. I’ll also be throwing in a resonated tip next weekend. It sounds purrrfect now. Definitely louder than stock if you step on it, yet very, very quiet otherwise...

Blue Behemoth Build Thread (01 Yukon XL)

Aright alright alright finally decided to do a build thread, mainly under slight peer pressure from @Tonyrodz and @Rocket Man, on my 2001 Yukon XL 5.3 I’ve had this truck for a little over 10yrs, and aside from religiously doing oil changes, haven’t done much else to it, and since I plan to do...

    Head Unit and Speaker upgrade

I’m about to do the same in my 01 Yukon. If you want navigation, I’d recommend something that will pair with your phone and use your phone’s navigation. Also, if you want an easier install, get a media player (doesn’t play CD’s), which will be more shallow, and won’t require you to cut/trim...

    Tahoe oem sub box

I grew up in NY, but have lived in Northern California for the last 10yrs... Waaay more idiots than assholes out here. I can tell you that out here oftentimes you HAVE to pass on the right, since all the idiots don’t understand the different between the passing lane, cruising lane and exit...

    Experience with Dorman window regulators?

Good to know. I’ve heard that window regulators especially are components that are better to get OEM (AC Delco), but Dorman is a long-standing aftermarket brand, so figure I’d give them a shot.

    Dorman window regulators?

Has anyone tried Dorman window regulators? (I just posted similar questions in Gen Discussion for NNBS I’m accident, but these refs will go into an NBS).

    Experience with Dorman window regulators?

Do they suck? Anyone tried them? I think Dorman is the only aftermarket company I would trust, but wondering if anyone has had experience with their window regulators?

    00 Esky seats in a 01 Yukon?

Wow is there any chance to ask her next time you see her, how she got the seats to work? Mainly, just if the connector plugged right in or if there was electrical work needing to be done. All good if not possible, just thought I’d put it out there.

    00 Esky seats in a 01 Yukon?

How did you get the power seats to work in the 01 van? Did you have to splice in a new connector? Or did the connector fit?

    00 Esky seats in a 01 Yukon?

Indeed, sounds like junkyard visits are in my future. Did the gmt400 bolt into the express van without modification? Are they power seats? Plug and play?

    00 Esky seats in a 01 Yukon?

I have the airbag seats (2001), so will 03-06 GMC/Chevy/Esky seats bolt in? And will the connector be plug and play if the donor seats have airbags too?
  24. Rayyy

    00 Esky seats in a 01 Yukon?

I didn’t realize the first gen Esky was a gmt400, I guess the connectors for the power seats will likely not fit, even if they do bolt in.

    00 Esky seats in a 01 Yukon?

I don’t have photos of the donor truck, the shop which has the seats said they are from a 2000 Esky. They are super comfortable and very good condition (I’ll take a photo next time I’m down there), but they look just like the photo attached.
