Ya once they find it(hopefully) and tell me what the cost to repair is, I’m going to bring up the misdiagnosis. I have all the emails from him telling me that they found “my sound” but when it came to the invoice, it said that the tech didn’t hear the loud pop that I described to them.
Thought that maybe the exhaust moves a little since it’s attached to the engine which is on mounts, inertia and all on turns. I prematurely gave back the camera to my friend. Guess I’ll have to pick it up again. That being said, got a reply from the dealership that the tech saw my video and...
FML. Their fix didn't work unfortunately. Drove it around the block a few times and didn't hear the sound after I picked up the vehicle. Was nearing my home and rolled the window down again. Lo and behold, heard a loud pop when executing a left turn at about 15 miles an hour. Called the...
So I decided to have them fix it. Told me it would be $200(extra $40 was if they ended up needing new exhaust clamps). I did ask about warrantying the work by the previous dealer but was told that they have been given a "hard no" by GM recently for this exact type of thing since it wasn't done...
Appreciate the quick and detailed response! So is this something you would eat the cost on or would you just say "thanks" and try to fix it yourself? I'm pretty handy with cars. I just don't want to diy if it's something that'll take 3-4 hours to fix. Not worth my time in that case.
Update: Just got the call that the dealer thinks they found the culprit. One of the exhaust pipes between the manifold and muffler is hitting the cross member. This isn't a surprise since the engine was replaced last year which inevitably means they had to remove and reattach the exhaust. That...
Update 3: Just got the call that the dealer thinks they found the culprit. One of the exhaust pipes between the manifold and muffler is hitting the cross member. This isn't a surprise since the engine was replaced last year which inevitably means they had to remove and reattach the exhaust. That...
Just dropped mine off at the dealer. They were able to hear the same sound I was hearing whilst driving and turning. They are going to attach a wireless chassis ear system to isolate where it's coming from. I did tell them of your account where it was a crooked lower control arm from the...
Update2: Dropped 'er off at the dealer and just heard back that they were able to hear the same sound when driving but cannot hear it when the vehicle is up in the air. So with that being said, they are going to use their wireless chassis ear system to isolate where its coming from. And the good...
They have a lot of nice things but I can’t get over the exterior styling. Reminds me of a stretched Ford Flex. The side profile, especially around the wheels just doesn’t look right. Just doesn’t have that imposing road presence like the GMC.
I’ve wonder myself but have been told multiple times that the window sticker would have stated that it didn’t have it. My window sticker says the only things I didn’t get was the 4 way lumbar and parking sensors(which later were retrofitted). So I dunno how to confirm for sure.
Here’s where I’m at: I don’t notice or hear DFM in my 2022(had its engine replaced in ‘23) at all. I installed the auto stop/start eliminator and have been very happy with this engine. If I do end up buying this device, it’ll be after the power train warranty is up.
All in all, it doesn’t matter how they do it. The bottom line is that they have to get approval from GM to warranty anything because that’s who’s paying for it.
When was it the last time you went into a GM dealer and saw this? I took mine in last month to get my parking sensor retrofit completed. First thing they did was come out with a tablet and scanner. Scanned the barcode on the B pillar right away. 100% sure that GM runs the vin etc before any kind...
I’m not guessing either. I had a 2020 Ford Expedition. Took it to get the battery replaced. They called me 30 minutes later to ask me if I knew that the vehicle was branded(saw that I had temp tags). I’ve owned over a dozen branded vehicles. Friends and family have owned even more. Everyone...
Lol and neither have you. Go ahead and try getting warranty service on a branded vehicle. It all has to get approved through GM - not a simple “oh you’re under X amount of miles and years so you’re g2g buddy!” No, every time you take your vehicle to the dealer, the first thing they do is scan...
Absolutely. They have access to NMVTIS - National Motor Vehicle Transaction System. A government repository. Once a vehicle is written off as a total loss by insurance; they’re required by law to report that information.
