    Ticking noise coming from engine

Not sure if this has been fixed on the newer models, but the older 6.0 and 6.2 motors had a tendency to sheer one or more bolt heads on the exhaust manifold. My '09 Denali has 3 sheered exhaust manifold bolt heads as we speak and will 'tick' until the manifolds are good and warm.

Rear Mounted turbo - 2014 GMC Yukon XL (5.3L)

Interesting concept, try it out. Plenty of info on the net about butt turbos (not being derogatory towards your idea OP, that's just what many folks call them) do a search for "STS" and "C5" or Corvette, lots of info/advice.

Preowned Purchase...2015 Chevy Taho LTZ vs 2015 Yukon Denali?

2015 being a new model year and I 'believe' the introduction of the 8-speed tranny with the 6.2 motor, I'd avoid both that year and the 6.2....assuming of course that my understanding of the 8-speed being introduced in that year is correct. I have the older 6.2, without DOD and the 6-speed. I...

    2007-2014 Yukon Denali AWD?

Mine is a 2009 and AWD. BTW, if you're looking the '09s are the last year without AFM. Took me a while to find mine, but that was one of the criteria for me.

    Spark Plug Wires.

I think the "9" prefix indicates 'replacement' or aftermarket. The 748 plug wires come with UU, RR, WW, etc. etc. suffixes, most all are available with the "9" prefix and are usually lower priced. I'm trying to figure out if the suffix (UU, RR, etc.) is only the color or if it indicates...

Not so good in the white stuff.

If your AWD is working properly you shouldn't get stuck with the front tires having traction. Having said that, good tires make all the difference in the world. I ran dedicated snow tires on my old burb in the Cleveland winters, no issues getting around in several feet of snow. All seasons...

Sell my 03 for 07? Thoughts?

If you have a BMW you know the pain associated with having cutting edge technology :D I just replaced the electric water pump in my 335xi, to the tune of $550 just for the parts.

Sell my 03 for 07? Thoughts?

I drove my '03 burb almost daily for 2-3 years. Picked up an '09 Yukon XL Denali last year and totally love it, well except that it is AWD rather than 4WD (selectable) I think that both vehicles are very reliable and nice to drive. I drive the Yukon mostly, as it's newer and the brakes...

Need some help with troublshooting of electronics and PCM

My '03 suburban threw a P0135 code recently. Being lazy, I purchased a new O2 sensor without troubleshooting the problem to confirm. After installing the new sensor and not fixing the issue, I started to troubleshoot, here's what I found and where I'm at now....need some help. Scanning...

    Need wiring schematic 2003 suburban

I have a dead short in the circuit that powers my driver's side cig lighter. The fuse under the hood blows immediately when putting a new one in. To help me trace the short can someone provide a wiring schematic or a list of items that are on this circuit. I know the ODB port and the cig...

    Yukon Denali vs. SLT

Get the Denali! I have a 2009 Denali and 2003 Suburban with the 5.3. They both get about the same MPG (Denali is actually a few tenths better, but that could be due to its motor technology being more advanced than the '03's) when not towing. Haven't towed with the Denali yet so cant compare...

    Yukon Denali vs. SLT

I regularly drive a 5.3 suburban. I recently purchased a Denali mainly for the extra power. My burb would work to maintain 55 MPH towing a full sized car (Grand Prix) up steep hills (not quite mountains), so I wanted a bit more 'oomph'. In addition to the added torque, my Denali gets a bit...

What in the world is on there Tahoe

I know this is an ancient thread:sorrysign:, but wow! Texas troopers have SC'd patrol vehicles? If so, I'm going there to buy up some of the scraps.

08 yukon Denali magnacharged, NEED MORE POWER.

@MonoAny- if you decide to move up to the TVS2300, let me know. I wouldn't mind putting the little TVS1900 on my Denali to perk it up a bit.

Anyone else think the new suburban looks like Ford Flex's big brother?

Still trying to warm up to the new body style. I like the 2 previous generations of Suburbans, but this new one still needs to grow on me. Here's the '07-14 for comparison. And the previous generation

    Reliability 2010 vs. 2007?

I'm in the market for a new Burb or Tahoe. I have an '03 burb with 180K on the clock and aside from normal wear-n-tear it runs great, no leaks or major problems. From my reading, it appears that the '07 models have electrical issues (no start, battery assinations, etc.) Did these issues get...

    Few Questions on replacing AC

I just replaced a seized compressor on my '03 burb, pretty easy stuff, just need to pay attention to details. Minimum required parts: Compressor orifice tube/expansion valve (rear A/C) filter drier O-rings/seals General Instructions (many more detailed ones available on Youtube/internet)...

Wanted- Stock 00-06 tails, AC compressor

For those that picked up an AC compressor from RockAuto, was it the $250'ish denso unit? If so, did you get it for a rear air model, any install/operational issues? Looking for a new compressor for my '03 burb, with rear AC. Stuck between Denso and 4-seasons brands at the moment....

    Right box, wrong part?

I've got a similar issue with my 99 4x4 Tahoe. The old center link is ~31" (end to end) and the new one is 25" Old one has 5" centers (tie rod to pitman/idler) and the new one is ~3". The part number for the new, shorter one is DS1407. I reckon I could adjust the tie rods out to bolt it in...

Need help with violent shaking of steering wheel

I checked the hubs/bearings by grabbing the top & bottom of the tires, no movement/play there. If this issue is the steering box, is there an adjustment or do you just replace it?
