Brake went to the floor, service light came on. No other indication there is a problem. No visible leak that I can find. I'm hoping the seals went bad in the master cylinder. It's not a guarantee, but it's a relatively easy fix before I have to have the thing towed.
So that data plate on the glove box was no help. It says JH2 which I'm learning refers to the brake boost system. That still doesn't help me with what brake system the Tahoe has. I pulled up the vin data and all it says is PWR all-wheels.
Autozone and Advanced Auto refer to JC5, JH5, JH6, JH7.
This is turning out to be a big pain in the sack. So according the glove box label, the brake system is a JH2. According the dealer, the master cylinder is discontinued. I can't find the JH2 option on Auto Zone or Advanced Auto. Not sure what to do at this point.
Think I need to replace the brake master cylinder on my son's 2004 but there seem to be 4 different part numbers. I don't know what brake system it has, JC5, JH5, JH6, or JH7?
Any help would be appreciated.
Is there a site I can enter the VIN to get this?
