    Emergency lighting

More of the roof light bar, the ones in the grille are the Code 3's . 4 lamps in the grille, each lamp alternates between amber and white. Hard to get pic of those. We use a Sound off Signal 6 head mini bar on the push bumpers of our PD Explorers and Tahoes. We also use them in umarked PD...

    Emergency lighting

Sound Off Signal (nRoads) roof light bar. Amber and white, with traffic advisor, cruise lights (corners on only on dim), alley's (side whites) , take downs (front 2 white) and scene light which turns whole bar white. In the pic of the scene light there are not lights imperative, they drop out...

So my 04 2500 is 4x4, has 6.0 with a 4l80e. 3.73's with a 275/60r17 tire and about 190k on it. Its an LT with a bunch of options. It averages about 11 to 12mpg. I do tow periodically but its mostly my wife's daily .My cats were plugged so i gutted them. I need to tune to delete codes for cats...

    Emergency lighting

I like the attatchment. Sorry I missed something. I agree there are lights for hide a ways and lights that are not. If it is the the pic of the code 3 lights in the grille that are in question, I don't believe they are supposed to be used as hide a ways. They are to big. Yes only a 1" hole...

A new interior sound ( actuator?)

Yes its another actuator. The one on top of dash is temp, the one on bottom is temp. Left side is mode and right side is recirculation. Both temps and recirc. are same part number, mode is the different one.

    Repair stereo

Here in Florida it used to be all GM dealers sent radios that need repair to Techni- Car. Not sure if they still do but I just Googled the business and there is one in Oldsmar Fl. Maybe try calling and see if they can help out. The site is technicar.com

    Emergency lighting

I also agree with GranPrix with using quality equipment. I also have been upfitting vehicles for many years. We use a lot of Whelen too, but Sound Off Signal, Code 3, Star, and. Brookings have many options that are more economical. We use those three on Public Works vehicles with white and...

    Electric Fans Vs Clutch Fans

I hear ya. You need to figure out what the root cause of your overheating problem is before you decide to upgrade to e-fans. A lot of my orginal problems were from a bad clutch fan.

    Newbie, here. Needing guidance.

Welcome from Central Florida. I also am a family of five. I love having a suburban, it allows me to spread the kids farther apart (Nice as they get older). I think just as long as 4×4 you'll be happy. Z71 was just Chevy not GMC. I think you will have better fuel mileage with a 5.3 over a 6.0...

    Electric Fans Vs Clutch Fans

So in my 04 2500 Sub, I originally added an auxilary fan in front of the a/c condenser per a GM tsb on inefficient a/c cooling at idle. This tsb has the fan wired to the a/c clutch circuit so the fan is on anytime the a/c is on. Later I retroed a set of 06 tahoe fans in. They bolt directly in...

Taking a road trip - any ideas or recommendations?

I second the Stoner Invisible Glass cleaner. I use it in all my vehicles and my wife uses in the house for windows and mirrors. As far as outside glass I use the Rain X washer fluid, the longer you use it the better it works. Summer time the jugs are green and formula is to help with bug...

    NNBS Cargo space?

Im not sure about any of the newer SUV's, I have old stuff. But I'm sure the ones with the 2nd row captains chairs are more comfortable. As far as cargo space I look for as much room as I can get with the 3rd row up and I definitely have more cargo space i my 97 Suburban over my 04 Suburban...

    Body plugs

As far as roof plugs. If we take a unit off the road for patrol but is staying in the fleet (removing light bar), we will duct tape a piece of sheetmetal roughly two to three times the size of the hole to underside of the hole. Then we fill the hole on the outside with 3M Marine Adhesive part #...

    Body plugs

I agree with rocket man. I have installed a bunch of those antennas as well. Been a while though. We have not used them in probably 10 years now. But after reading rocket man's posts I started to remember the process. He is spot on. We use all glass mounts now and only drill the roof for the...

    Heater Hose Blew Out

I would replace the tee's as well. You can by the tee's and the hose end quick couplers all individually without hoses. If never replaced the hoses i would change those too. If buying aftermarket use Gates. DON'T use the Doorman ones. They're junk and don't fit properly. Other than that use...
