Now they make the green stuff that is compatible with all colors. I haven't done a full flush on my system yet, but I do top up with the dexcool compatible coolant and I'm not too worried.
Yea do the basics first. Make sure all your maintenance items are up to snuff (oil, air filter, plugs, etc.). Then maybe try a bottle or two of fuel injector cleaner or Seafoam. After that you might need a more thorough diagnostic to read your sensor voltages while it's running.
Sounds like it's got everything you need, but I'm not sure which kits are recommended/endorsed. You could make some calls to local trans shops just to pick their brains.
So these trucks all have the ability to monitor trans temp, it's just a matter of swapping to a cluster that has one? The wire/connector is just hanging ready to go?
Look into the Sonnax boost valve or corvette servo. Either accomplish essentially the same thing (firmer shifts and more line pressure). Also aluminum accumulator pistons vs. the plastic factory ones. Maybe look into a trans cooler too. Never built one myself, but have had shops do work for...
One of my considerations when wanting to lift my truck was still being able to park in the garage. I have a standard 2 car garage. Anyone do a lift more than 2-3" and still clear the garage door?
I thought about removing the airbag warning stickers from the sun visors the other day, but it looks like they might not peel off clean. Anyone accomplish this and what was your experience?
$350 seems awfully high. Where are you located? I know a great shop in socal that would take care of you. I'm sure the install isn't that hard, but I'm not an expert in this area.
