    Maybe you got the tail end of the good ones? Maybe not 100% of them fail, but on GMFS I've seen more people say theirs failed around 2 years than didn't fail. This isn't an isolated incident, there are multiple threads about it.

    You're experiencing exactly the same thing I was when the plug that goes from my ignition harness to the fuse box wiggled every so slightly loose. I unplugged and plugged back in, problem solved. Alternatively, it could be your ignition switch causing the same problem.

    Buy an Optima and you'll likely be replacing the battery again in 2 years or less. They don't perform well or last long since they changed manufacturers about 5 years ago.

    A blown speaker will cause the radio amplification go into protect mode, you could have a blown speaker, very common in 07+ causing that problem. All your sounds that don't work play through the radio.

    It sounds like a blown speaker shutting the HU outputs off. Next time it isn't working, try disconnecting 1 speaker at a time and see if it comes back.

    You don't have an amp for the front and cargo speakers, that's HU power. There is an amp for the rear door speakers but it's on the steering column. If you have no sound, you probably have 1 bad speaker causing the radio to go into protect.

    Yeah, that enforces it's the HU. You could try grounding the HU chassis elsewhere, but more than likely it will have to be taken apart to resolder whatever joint is broken.

    To get the factory sub to work you need to power up the blue wire on the harness with the amp turn on from the HU. Not having a power antenna I'm guessing that wasn't connected. As for the speaker, take the door panel off and take the speaker out and see if it plays. That will help indicate...

    That is the factory input, and I believe it's high level. I don't think the factory amp is high passed, but I could be mistaken.

    Most likely it's the adapter. The PAC seems to be the best one out there but they all have problems.

    Your line output converter could be like one I have, filters bass, hard. It should be full range both in and out of that amp. If you want to avoid it, you could use the signal off the back of the radio but I believe it's high level.
