Welcome from fellow Ohian; I'm located in the Dayton area. You definitely put in the work on that carpet and it looks 100 times better!
Junkyard finds will be your best bet on odds and ends. Unfortunately, GM likes to discontinue a lot of model specific parts on vehicles as they age. Some...
Because as @PPV_2018 has just pointed out GM has thought it’s ok and acceptable to charge $100K for an SUV with no regard or provisions for the level of dealership knowledge or service should be to go along with said $100K Trucks/SUV’s.
And why should they? People keep buying don’t they?
(I...
I know. That’s a diamond in the rough, but it would be ideal to find a K2XX with lifter failure that someone wants to dump instead of fix.
13 MPG isn’t great, but it’s not terrible. That being said 13 MPG of regular unleaded 87 octane is leaps and bounds better than 13 MPG on 91/93 Premium...
On the Chevrolet website when building a Tahoe/Suburban the 24” rims you’re after are available to add as an option.
They are a $2,225 wheel option. Keep in mind I had the Suburban High Country already selected which comes standard with 22” rims. The $2,225 adder is on top of the 22” rims...
It is very common for the heads of the manifold bolts to break off, leaving the threaded bolt shaft still in the head. I currently have (2) manifold bolts in this condition on my '13 Escalade ESV (I'm also located in Ohio btw). Just my luck they're the far back ones located closest to the...
@Pilot Give us an update on how the 10 speed transmission's been treating you.
Is everything from the swap still driving and operating as it should?
You can't just be the first ginny pig to work with Powertrain Swap Solutions to move from a 6 speed to the 10 speed then ghost us?
Inquiring...
@BigBoyZ71
I don’t think they have a replacement. It’s a problem, and is so odd that out of all the OEM black window trim for the LWB just (1) is discontinued.
I’ve got all the Suburban RST OEM window trim sitting in the garage including the vertical window appliqués. The body shop I work...
@fozzi58 If you're interested in a "block off plate" type of solution I would reach out to these guys: https://reversionraceworks.com/92-99-obs-chevy-roof-rack-delete-plates/
I just asked them about roof rail delete kit for the GMT900 and this was their response:
Thanks for reaching out!
We...
Are your rims 24” replicas?
The front springs appear to be 1” drop springs from the GMT900 platform. I could be wrong. But with how low your front is sitting I’d bet you have drop spindles also up front.
It looks like a 3”/5” drop.
How does it ride?
@TahoeFL2017 What’s driving your interest in a Suburban?
Need the extra space?
Do you plan on keeping the Tahoe and adding a Suburban?
Any particular reason you want to stay with the 5.3?
I would be looking for an ‘18-‘20 Premier, High Country, or even an RST with the 6.2 L86 and 10 speed.
I looked into this years ago and found that OSRAM offered an OEM 45W D3 HID ballast that had the same 3 bolt mounting points as the stock 35W units.
However, I believe they have been discontinued and are very hard to find.
www.theretrofitsource.com used to sell them some time back.
285/40/24 is the OEM tire size for all the 2025 GM SUV’s with the OEM 24” rim option.
I highly doubt GM made any changes to the wheel wells of the 2025 compared to the 2021-2024 models.
Rockauto and gmpartsdirect.com will be your best bet. Do not skimp out on replacement parts. Buy OEM parts.
Look at it this way. Assuming you’re on all original parts. The OEM parts have lasted 10 yrs and 165K miles, why purchase parts you’ll have to replace in 20-30K miles or 1-2 yrs to...
I’ve been looking into this for my GMT900 Escalade ESV and ran across these:

Though I’ve never owned a vehicle with the 5.3; I was in a ‘21 Yukon XL SLT with 5.3 and 10 speed and I will say that the 10 speed helps the 5.3 a lot! I will say I wasn’t as disappointed as I thought I might’ve been.
She sounds healthy for sure.
How's the condition of the interior?
Black leather or is it cloth?
(I've got a pit that looks a lot like yours, but my guy has less white)
The wheels do look good. The GMT900 and K2XX platform required some higher offsets on both Factory and aftermarket rims and clearly the T1XX '21+ platform are wider and should have a lower offset to avoid the inset/tucked look like you have going on. It's not a good or bad thing, I think maybe...
Depending on vehicle age and mileage any harm in doing something like this if you’ve never done it before?
Say 8-10 yr old vehicle 100K+ miles?
(Asking for a friend…)
The vibrating sensor in the driver seat of my old ‘15 Yukon Denali went out and it was a known issue.
It would beep and alert with red lights on the HUD, but no vibration. It was a known seat sensor issue. And that was before 40K miles to the CPO warranty picked it up at the time.
I think this is the best thing any GM SUV owner with a 6.2L L87 that has experienced engine failure can do. Submit your experience and vehicle details to the NHTSA. Not sure what that process looks like or includes; I'm sure it might take some time, effort, and documentation.
Whether you...
Loaner vehicles are owned and managed at each dealership level by the dealer their use is at their discretion. The "GM is only covering a loaner for 1 week" is BS from the dealer. Thats your dealership not willing to keep you in a loaner for extended periods of time until your vehicle is...
@Bigburb3500 No. Morimoto is a brand and manufacturer of lighting products. Lightwerkz is a vendor/seller of their products (there are other lighting vendors that carry Morimoto also). But Lightwerkz also provides some headlight retrofit services as well.
