Service 4x4 light - which switch?
Well 10 mos later and the cheap ass POS switch from Rock Auto went out again! I probably used the switch 10 times. Grrr... Not sure what I'm going to do.. might try that solder trick, but I don't have a soldering kit.- DjLarroc

That's kinda what I figured.. I'm going to rotate today, and keep a close eye on tire wear.. How much do the shocks run for the LT (air ride?).. best place to buy? Rock Auto?- DjLarroc

Tire chirp while pulling trailer
Hey guys, I have a '00 Tahoe LT 5.3. When I am pulling a trailer, a rear tire will chirp when I go accross concrete and turn (like at an intersection). Is this normal? Anyone know if these had posi and it's going bad? Not sure where to start looking for the problem (if there is one)...- DjLarroc

My '00 Tahoe 5.3 has the service 4x4 light on, and it's stuck in auto. Now, I can't even get out of it by shutting off the truck like before. I read it's the swtich, but wanted to ask which one do you guys recommend? Or are they really all the same? $30.70...- DjLarroc

Thanks for the advice bro. I usually fill it up the first time the light comes on. There's about 1/8 left. I'm guessing theres another gallon or 2 in there? Ok. So maybe what I'll do first is run a bottle of heat through it to kill any moisture in there. Last winter this did not happen, and I would have noticed this for sure. Plus I track my mileage and maintenance on mycarprojects.net so I have it all logged since I bought it last November.- DjLarroc

Thanks for the quick replies guys! I did new plugs (OE) at 177k. Ran seafoam around 180k. No CE codes. Will anything come up anyway? I'll replace the fuel filter. Only recent work, was oil pump went out. Got that fixed. Took on a road trip and avg'd about 18MPG on that trip. Best I've...- DjLarroc

Hey guys, new here but was a member of TF. Got a 2000 Tahoe 4x4, 5.3. 184k. Runs like a champ, but in the last month or so, the mileage has gotten terrible.
