I currently have a 2012 Tahoe PPV, however I opted to pose this question in the 2015-'20 trucks section for two reasons: 1.) I am thinking of upgrading to a 2015-'20 truck at some point, and 2.) Since 2015 was the first year that PPV was available in both 2WD and 4WD, I figured these would be...
SETINA makes a winch-ready push bumper, and I am sure other manufacturers have winch ready bumper solutions too, but I have only ever seen them used on the Tahoe SSV...has anyone installed a winch on a Tahoe PPV?
For 2015, the Tahoe PPV got bumped up to 17"x8" wheels vs the 17"x7.5" that come on the 2007'-'14 models...do the 2015+ wheels have the same bolt pattern and offset as our wheels, or would I need spacers if I wanted to mount the newer style wheels?
Andyb, I wanted to know if bumping up from 3.08 to 3.42 rear would make the engine go to 4 cyl mode more often at highway speed...seems the computer has tons of DOD related settings...perhaps the major providers of tunes for our trucks may have figured out the optimum tweaks for these
From what I have gathered doing research into the workings of cylinder deactivation on the GMT900 SUVs, it seems that the general consensus is that for the early SUVs with the 4-speed auto and 3.73 axle, if one steps up to a 4.10 axle ratio, it will result in the truck kicking into 4 cylinder...
The part number you supplied is for 2007-'11 GMT900 SUVs. 2012-'14 require 22951516. Other than that, everything worked out exactly as you said it would and I now have remote start :)
My 2012 Tahoe PPV, like all fleet/base model Tahoes came with a remote that unlocks doors and looks like this:
I am wondering how difficult it would be to add factory remote starter capability, which came standard on Tahoe LT/LTZ and all Yukons, and has a remote that looks like this...
Someday I will put in a second battery in my PPV and post a pic of it...in the meantime, there is a factory tray for the second battery on all PPVs from the factory, even if the second battery option is not ordered. I have a 2012 GMC Sierra 2500 as a work truck which also has an extra tray for...
The PPV suspension yields some awesome handling...compared to other GMT900 trucks, they have far less body lean and can be pushed much more on turns. In fact, the only "improvements" I feel the need to make are urethane bushings and Hellwig swaybars. Which is leading me to an interesting...
You can get a carbon fibre hood for this body style of Tahoe that is shaped similarly to the factory hood for $1K from these guys: http://www.andysautosport.com/products/vis_racing__07CHTAH4DOE-010C.html
You'd get about half of the weight savings from the Hybrid body parts for less than 1/5 of...
UPDATE: I just added the DIC to my 2012 PPV and yes this mod is definitely possible for PPVs. Same instructions as for other Tahoes with no DIC, and you need the Z71 trim piece in order to have trim with DIC hole that matches the PPV interior. Although, someone else here did dremel theirs in...
Thanks for the lead, however since I have a Tahoe PPV I would need the 2007 style ebony cloth headrests, as seen inside this Silverado: http://i910.photobucket.com/albums/ac301/sj586/tsb/02.jpg
I just got a 2012 Tahoe PPV...I know people have managed to do the steerwing wheel audio control upgrade on a PPV, but has anyone successfully done the DIC upgrade on a PPV?
