I went witb the CCM 2.5/1.5" lift. I also installed the rear Airlift bags to use when we pull a camper. They work great and I definitely recommend them for anyone pulling weight. Let me know if you have any questions about it.
Well, it is supposed to onlg have around 2000 miles on it. When we bought the truck, the sticker indicated that it had just been changed. We only put a little over 2000 miles on it when the low oil pressure started. We did get reimbursed for it, but im starting to wonder if it was really...
A little update. I finally remembered to cut open the filter this afternoon. Im no expert on this, but it appears that the filter is clogged and looks dirty. I've never cut one open, so I could be wrong. Any opinions on this picture.
Had the oil changed today and what do you know, pressure stays between 40-50 psi. I them give my wife the old filter which is a AC Delco pf48 filter. Mechanic said that the seal was bad and filter had some oil leakage around it. Although I don't think that had anything to do with the low...
I wish I had time to do it myself tomorrow, but have to leave out early. At this point, I just want it changed. I think I'll change it again soon and do it myself using K&N filter and maybe try switching to synthetic. Please keep us posted on your findings. Those videos you posted(especially...
Just bought the vehicle a few weeks ago. Sticker says it was changed and still have 2500 miles to go before it is due. Of course they gave me a 2000 mile warranty, which is out by about 250 miles. Only has 56000 miles on the clock. Not what I was wanting to hear. Any ideas what would cause...
Just had the same issue on my 08 Suburban tonight. Scared me a little as the wife called and told me the low oil pressure alarm was going off. I told her to shut it down and restart. Pressure went up, but slowly went down. Luckily, she was a mile from the house. After restarting, I goes up...
Its definetly not normal. I may just replace the rack and pinion assembly. I can get a reman from rockauto for about $250. If it fixes the issue, then I'll call both dealerships and tell them to suck it.
The shaft moves with the steering wheel, but does not move the wheels. Almost like there is slop in the rack and pinion assembly. There is no resistance when there is play.
Installed the CCM 2.5" leveling kit on the front. Had the windows tinted, removed the pinstriping, and removed the cheesy chrome fender pieces. I'm really liking the stance. I still need to install the rear 1" spacers that came with the kit, but ran out of time yesterday. Here are a couple...
I'll look into it. I've taken it to two different dealerships and they both said that nothing was wrong. The second dealership said that they could replace the rack and pinion assembly and it may or may not fix the issue.:emotions122:I know for a fact that it is not normal. I've driven quite...
I installed them on Friday evening and everything went great. The bags were a pain to get in, but not too bad. I ended up leaving the factory rubber and used the T and used only one valve. Filled up with nitrogen to keep pressure from fluctuating. Still holding 10psi. Haven't hooked a...
Just bought a 2008 z71 Suburban 4X4 with only 55,000 miles. While test driving it, I noticed a weird feeling in the steering. While driving straight, there is play in the steering that allows the steering wheel to move side to side without wheel movement. Even with vehicle off, you can move...
Zed, any tips on the bag install. I hear the directions are kind of vague and not vehicle specific. Hoses come out the top or bottom? Where did you locate the valves on your setup?
Just bought a 2008 Suburban Z71. I'm not liking the pinstriping and want to remove it. What is the best way to safely get it off. I tried just peeling it off, but that got old real quick. It also has some cheesy chrom (or what used to be chrome ) molding on the edge of all of the fender...
Awesome! Thanks for the help.
Zed, You helped me over on the other forum. I wasn't getting anymore responses there, so I decided to post here. I love your ride by the way:head3: I think I'm going to do the 1" rear with bags and 2.5" front. Thanks again for the help!
Going to put a 2.5" front 1.5" rear leveling kit on the Suburban. We pull a camper a few times a year and I'm thinking I want to install the Airlift 1000's on the rear to help with that. My question is, should I do a 1.5" rear to level it and just leave the airbags aired down to 0 psi unless...
