Oh man I like this way better than the universal plastic reservoir I bought. I’m going to order one. Thanks!
On a different note, I’d give my left nut for one of On3’s twin turbo kits. 700 hp would be fun in a Tahoe
I tried loosening the screws this weekend and warming it with a heat gun to try to reshape it back some. It wouldn’t move as much as I’d like it to. I think I’m going to have to just replace it. I’m not rubbing it in normal driving right now but on tight turns I’m hitting it through the wheel...
I went from 275/60/20 on stock LTZ wheels 20x9 (+31) to 295/65/18 on Fuel Trophy 18x9 (+1).
I had already completed a small nor-cal mod and pulled back the liners in the front after trimming the bumper brackets some. Now with the new wheels/tires I’m barely rubbing the liner on the drivers...
Thanks for all the detail. I bet it’s your cam that gives you more vibration. That choppy idle sounds great though!
My next mods will be a cam, AFM delete, long tubes, and a torque converter. I have the AFM tuned out but I want to replace the lifters etc.
I know a guy who has a torque...
I feel a little more engine vibration at idle but it isn’t that noticeable. I’m just hoping they hold up a lot better than the stock fluid filled junk they put in these trucks.
What cam did you put in and how do you like it?
Just finished up a whole bunch of maintenance and repairs that I had been putting off. My tahoe has 140K on it but the engine runs great so I’m going to keep it for a while. I finally decided to finish the work after my G80 rear differential blew up. It’s one hell of a list:
Oil pump, water...
I did the same thing to mine and the service suspension light wasn’t on. It came back on about 6 months after my install and I haven’t been able to get rid of it since.
As far as the leveling issue. You have to swap the stock auto ride rear springs for stiffer springs. Stock autoride springs...
I'm not saying norcalss is wrong. Those are the correct resistors that need to be soldered across the old autoride shock connection.
However, when I replaced my autoride system with bilstein 5100s, I had to wire resistors across the ride height sensors as well. I did not find out that I had to...
Ok I will work with the mods on a stickied post that includes the full procedure of converting a NNBS SUV to non autoride shocks.
The electronics in NBS (including your 2002) are not related to the NNBS trucks at all. All of the suspension sensors are tied into the PCM and there isn't an...
You have to disconnect the ride height sensors or it will burn the resistors up on the Autoride shock wires. Leaving them connected varies thw resistance to the old Autoride shock connectors. You can measure the resistance on the ride height sensor wires and order the right resistors to turn off...
I have this issue on my tahoe. There is some kind of pressure release vent that stops working and has to be replaced. I need to figure out how to fix it.
^^ not on my tahoe but on other cars trucks it has happened to me, most recently on some pos ford pickup i was driving, i turn the gas...
Hit the tree just left of the Bowtie. It pretty much ripped the bumper cover off, bent the hood up, and bent the impact bars behind the bumper. No frame damage though.
Well I spun out on a muddy trail looking for a place to camp last weekend and hit a tree head-on.
Dropped the Tahoe off at my body shop today and it looks like a week of downtime and $2800. Insurance doesn't cover offroad collisions. :rage:
Oh well I needed to get the hood, bumper, and...
I've thought about switching mine out for a dual tip but I really like the single "diesel" size tip on mine. It's a different look than most people have on these Tahoes. But being painted black it's still understated.
I just went to my local exhaust shop. I had them cut off the resonator and weld on a long tip. I paid like $40 out the door. I taped everything up and painted it black myself with hi-temp grill paint later that day. It's been that way for 2 years with no issue.
