Hey been a little while but I got the front differential fluid changed and cleaned the magnet on the drain plug. Was very dark dirty fluid and the magnet was completely covered in a thick sludge of grainy metal which from what I understand is perfectly normal. But I also changed the transfer...
Still does this. Any suggestions for connection and ground problems I can check before I buy a new BCM? Also the front doors locks operate as they should. With the rke and push button electric locks they unlock and lock. But the rear passenger doors and rear access doors only lock but won't...
There's 138,250 miles on it right now. I'm about to install a downstream o2 sensors I ended up ruining by running the truck with the cat back exhaust for a few months. Lol. Well I'll be getting that in doing an inspection so its road legal again temp inspection ran out. But is it safe to drive...
Thanks for the response I'll definitely check out that post. I climbed used the Tahoe today and wiggled the driveshaft. It does turn a little by hand and makes a notable clunk back and forth. But by the differential there's no up and down or side to side play but at the transfer case there is...
My 2003 Tahoe has a rear access open message on my dash when the rear access is obviously shut tight. I cleaned the contacts and got them nice and shiny. Still says rear access open. Removed the contacts to look at them and test with multi meter and they where fine. So I'm thinking loose...
Hey everyone. I am finally driving my 2003 Chevy Tahoe around and just got the new Gibson cat back installed and its running pretty good. Aside from a bad 02 sensor and some misfires I'm thinking are related to that it seems fine. But there are a few noises I am concerned about. I just noticed...
Finally got it all back together replaced the windshield and drove it some. Other than the loud exhaust its running great. Just need to get the cat back Gibson sport dual side exit on. If anyone's interested in a exhaust video I will happily make one once its installed. Also just a word of...
Hey again anyone interested I have a few pics up of carpet down and floor pan in. Like I said though I had to rush the floor Pan as much as I didn't want to because I literally ran out of money due to my other cars payment hitting early and I really want this truck on the road for the winter...
I finally finished up and installed the passenger side floorpan with screws and some 3m body seam adhesive. Unfortunately the pan is not as nice looking as I wanted it to be sense I ran out of money for painting it red and only have a few coats of the greenish gray primer on top of the black...
I let the coat you see in the pictures before the last with clear coat (hope I got them up lol) dry and then did a second coat. I did 5 coats of the primer too. Just didn't take pics I was in the "moment" going nuts on this and just slacked on photos lol.
Gonna be posting some update pics on the painitng but I have got all the priming and base coat done and about 2 hours ago clear coated everything. How long should I let the cost coat "dry" before I put the truck bed liner on and installing the floor pan? I know that clear coat can take weeks...
Thank you I am red trying to get it well painted and hopefully prevent rust from coming back. But I see what your saying. I did cut out the whole pan but I also cut above where the pan was spot welded onto the body and then chisled the rest of it off the body. So I don't think it's causing any...
Yeah I know what your saying. Without proper prep the paint will fail and rust will come back but while I was working on this truck it finally struck me how much work I'm putting into it instead of driving it. Been almost 2 years waiting for the title and now I'm doing more work and prolonging...
Thank you! I am trying my best to get the floor pans ready to last a long while. I'm actually doing some more treatment with the phosphoric acid now but I notice there are areas with some scale and pitting still I can't get down to bare metal. Maybe need an attachment fr grinder or drill to...
Hello all again. Got some update pictures on my floor pan project in my 2003 Tahoe. Showing how I removed seats and took out new floor pan set on to of old rotting one one and cut the rotting one out. Been doing tons of prep work by grinding and wire brushing and using Naval jelly Phosphoric...
Hello again I am trying to Re-install the new passenger side floor pan in my 2003 Tahoe. I have got the rotted metal cut out and I am trying to get down to metal with grinder and sanding and wire brushing and then I will use phosoric acid then several coats of self etching primer and some 3m bed...
That's good to know especially sense it was a service Suv. Anyways I don't want to do burnout or anything like that but I do have fun on loose dirt and gravel every once in awhile but not on pavement.
Hello all very exited to say I have finally got my title for my Tahoe. Going to get it on the road tommorow. Finally get to see how the Tahoe drives on the street. Couple things I was wondering. Is is a bad idea to run the exhaust with the cat back? I have got a new Gibson dual side swept...
Lol thankfully it isn't that bad but its enough. Damn NY for its awful winters. Anyway I know what your saying though. The underside of these trucks are near impossible to completely clean and paint properly. Thanks for all the info though. I'm gonna try to clean everything up as much as I can...
Here's the pictures

Thank you for the information. I'm gonna do my best to get this done asap. I don't know if I can do any painting at all sense the temps around me are in the 60s and low 70s now and dropping for winter. And I...
Hello all still pretty new to Chevrolet's line of SUVs and trucks such as silverados and tahoes. Even GMCs Yukon's. With the 4l60e or 4l80e as well as a 5.3l or 5.7l vortec what kind of abuse can these take? I have seen so many people who own these trucks and SUVs do wot accelerations and...
Now have pics like to my album:

I'm thinking of using phosphoric acid then undercoat but is it worth it with this much rust?
The rust is still there though. I'm gonna put a link to my album where I have pics. I'm just trying to find what to use to stop the rust and under coat it with.
