You all are giving me hope! I was convinced my 2009 Tahoe LTZ 5.3 wouldn't be able to pull much, but after seeing your pics and comments I'm convinced. Now time to convince the other half and get that travel trailer I've been eye balling!
Based on your vids and experience I'm glad I decided to keep the OE resonator in place. My Tahoe is my every day driver, weekend family ride and takes me all over the Colorado back country. With any drone I know I'd put that resonator back on immediately. Thanks!
I did a ton o research and went with the Venom Black Widow 250 on my '09 Tahoe LTZ 5.3. All tone and no drone...just like they advertise. It's been about five months and it sounds even better than the first day I put it on.
Black Widow muffler
Good question!
I put some newspaper down on my workbench and sprayed it to death on that. I let it dry in the same place as well for 30 minutes before putting it back in the truck. Sat there for about another 15-20 before I took it out for a drive.
'09 Tahoe LTZ 5.3 going to bed toinght at 154,366 and still running strong.
Just installed a Black Widow Venom 250 muffler and cleaned the MAF tonight.
Best truck I've ever owned.
The Tahoe recently hit 154,000 miles and I thought it was time to look at the Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor. My local mechanic said if it hasn't been changed yet to simply pull it out, clean it put it back in and watch the MPG's jump. Soooo....here was my step by step experience with cleaning the...
Not today but yesterday I had the Black Widow Venom 250 installed on my '09 Tahoe LTZ. Absolutely awesome! No cabin drone as noted by the wife and kiddo but VERY throaty when on the throttle and start up's get noticed. See vid below for cold start up this morning.
Also just cleaned the MAF...
Experiencing the same issue on my '09 Tahoe LTZ. Just ordered a new switch from Amazon (AC Delco D1994E) $22 and have bookmarked the video below to install when it gets here.
Worried that if the new switch doesn't open the window it might be the lock actuator which is quite a bit more $$$.
Still looking for a response to this one if there is one. Check mine and the switch is rotted out, however not sure this is directly related to the FOB not being able to open the back glass.
Is there a fuse I can check or is there a separate lock actuator for just the glass in the lift gate?
Took the front valance off my '09 Tahoe LTZ and this is the look. I've noticed about .5 MPG drop but mostly city driving so not sure of the hwy MGP.
Next step will be to dremel off those little tabs for a clean look.
Quick vid of the 2009 Tahoe LTZ with the new Black Widow Venom 250 muffler w/ resonator in place. Have to say I immediately love the new rumble and NO DRONE from this thing. Wife even said the Tahoe sounds like a beast now and the kiddo in the backseat can still listen to her movies w/ headphones.
Today I'm putting on a Black Widow Venom 250 muffler on the '09 Tahoe and can't wait to hear it rumble. Great reviews so we'll see what happens.

Update - Turned out to be the oil filter was not seated correctly and the drip has gone away with the next oil change. I'll chalk this one up to a lazy tech.
Realize this post started some time ago, but had the same issue with my 2009 Tahoe. After an oil change last week my 150,000 mile Tahoe that never leaked oil...started leaking oil. Checked it out tonight after noticing quarter sized spots in the parking lot and found it to me a loose oil filter...
