No, left suspension as is. The 9G3 RPO code on my SSV suggests that it was placed in service with off-road suspension rather than the lower pursuit suspension rolled out with PPVs. It has a mildly aggressive stance on 31' BFGs. Maybe a bit stiff, but works well for me.
Sometimes I wish the same happened to me. My wife and I love driving the SSV but we're thinking of a change already and although we may recover cash spent I'll never recover the sweat equity.
Oh man the smell was incredibly offensive, I believe this reason alone is why this beast was retired as it's in excellent condition otherwise.
I converted the interior to civi by removing the cage and related panels and replacing with OEM seats, door panels, etc. from ebay/cl.
To address the...
Nicely done, I dig the flat black. I've toyed with the idea of achieving something similar with bed liner paint for a bit of a rugged look.
My SSV had the door pop device still in tact on the rear driver side when I drove from auction. Cool feature, but I converted the interior to civi and...
Been awhile since I checked in here. You've probably already found a few similar issues and maybe some solutions.
But in case this is still eating at you or any one else; before these ppv/ssv trucks go into service they arrive at an upfitter from the factory where a whole bunch of splicing and...
Nice looking truck. Reach out if you could use some advice on restoring wiring to horn, rear door locks, brake lights, etc. Went through this myself on my 2011 SSV Tahoe on the ECM. Pretty easy to identify upffitter splices and restore to factory if needed.
I think I've seen a couple of these around socal. My commute takes me from my home in North San Diego county as far South as downtown San Diego and as far North as Santa Ana.
These are noticeable because the few that exist really pop out among a sea of those Ford law enforcement trucks that...
True, same with the brake lights. Only when key is in accessory or on position.
BUT, suddenly the horn is now working even when the key is out.
Screwy, but whatever.
Fixed this as follows below, hopefully you can do similar or find a better solution:
Removed tail light assembly. Found that the brake light is the light blue wire going to the top bulb in the terminal marked "Major".
All the tail light wires including the light blue brake light wire trace to...
Great thread all, thank you very much. I picked up a 2011 SSV Tahoe in November and this has been bugging me since.
I poked around for the brown wire and sure enough it was cut, just spliced it back together and now the horn works.
Interestingly, the horn works only while the key is in...
Thanks for your comment.
Did just that, beginning at the brake light and working forward.
Found that the brake light is the light blue wire going to the top bulb in the terminal marked "Major".
Interestingly, the tail light wires including the light blue brake light wire trace to a harness...
Howdy Mike, I hope you're still active here and can help me with this. Or if another member sees this and can help feel free to chime in.
I bought a 2011 SSV and it appears that it may have had a switch to kill the brake lights like Mike mentioned.
Problem is I see no visible switch and have...
Thanks for the tip on the rear window switches, I'll give it a look. Now that you mention it the switches feel phony when pressed.
Brake fuses are all good, first thing I checked. I'm with you on the toggle switch, just so much to look at and I'm not as hand with electronics as I am with...
I wish I found this forum months ago. You guys rock, seriously, great thread. I could have contributed greatly with mod photos had I known.
I bought a 2011 SSV Tahoe from GSA auction in Nov 2017, did ok. It appears that the truck may have been used by border patrol; had a Fed title transfer...
