2021 Yukon XL AT4 arrival, and now mods!

Awesome ride. Strongly considering upgrading from my ‘16 Denali and doing similar mods. Been a money pit since I bought it. Biting my tongue on the mask sticker…each their own. Keep the pics and mods coming.

    2016 Yukon Denali P0300 & P0106

Yeah think I’m going to get a new Blackbear tune with AFM (DOD) disabled and either clamp it open or remove it and replace stock muffler with a Magnaflow one.

    2016 Yukon Denali P0300 & P0106

Fixed! Now flapper valve is broken. Dealer wanted $1700 for new exhaust. It’s always something. Maybe good excuse to go aftermarket.

    2016 Yukon Denali P0300 & P0106

Mine is at the dealer now getting two broken valve springs replaced. 86k mi, very similar symptoms. Yours gives me hope! Fingers crossed though.

    Buying a 2015....??

To me, seems like 2015s aren't much different reliability-wise to 2016s+. Most have the 6-speed transmission compared to 8-speed on 2016s (which some say is a good things as the 6 is tried, true, and proven). In addition the standard checklist and things people already mentioned here, I'd focus...

Looking to upgrade to a 2017 Denali from a 2012 Eski

Things I'd consider: See if there is a pricing impact on previous generations once newest generation (2021) is fully released. 10 speed > 8 speed. But a transmission tune is easy to do (Blackbear) and it made a huge improvement on my truck. I've put 200-300 miles on a 2020 Escalade and there...

    Sensor extensions

I did a 2.5" front leveling kit on mine and no sensor extension or other modifications were required.

Fox coilovers with xineering magnaride delete kit

Pretty sure I'm looking for the same thing. A well known shop in my area suggessted ICON but it was too much $$$$ at the time. After I replaced the MRC, the ride still sucks and I've found myself off road more often so really need to make a change. Go for it Fifty and I may do the same.

2018 Yukon XL 4x4 38k miles leaking coolant

Can you post the part number or link to this revised part? Your description fits what seems to be happening with mine. Thanks in advance.

2018 Yukon XL 4x4 38k miles leaking coolant

I have the same issue. Every 500-750 miles, I notice my engine temps creep past 210 and know it's time to fill the coolant reservoir again. Let us know how the it goes.

Exhaust decisions... Corsa vs Magnaflow 12909 - '16 Denali

Before and after sound clips? Thinking of doing this. To install, Just need to cut out old one and replace?

10 speed is the best transmission of the 3. +1

    2016 Yukon XL Denail

As others have said: - a lot of highway driving at varying speeds to check for booming / buffetting - drive at slower speeds and easy acceleration. There’s a common torque converter issue that feels like you’re driving over rumble strips. Should be covered under power train errant till 60k mi...

    2016 Yukon Denali - Upgrade Shop/Shifting

To answer your poll question, I think it depends on what you're looking for 1) exhaust is mostly sound, marginal performance increase 2) brakes if you tow heavy or appreciate extra stopping power 3) shocks if you're looking to improve the stance or off-road performance. I think a tune is best...

Leaking shocks.. magneride. Work with us GM!!

Had to replace my fronts on my 16 at 62k miles. Was quoted $1800 by dealer, bought OEM off rock auto and had a local shop install for $200.

    Difference in years?

    Transmission is biggest difference IMO. 10 speed > 6 > 8.

    305/45/22 rub w/ 2" level? (OEM 22")

I run 33x12.5x22 which i think are similar size with 2.5” front leveling kit on stock 22s and no rubbing.

    2in level

1.5” spacer might be just right. See jennaBear’s rig for reference.

2015 Tahoe LTZ front shock/strut replacement options?

I decided to stick with OEM b/c 1) my numbers were about $150 difference b/n OEM and Bilstein 2)Bilstein also will not recommend installation on MRC equipped Yukon/Yukon XLs 3) And I didn't want to chance it, don't know for sure anyone has done MRC delete with 5100s. It rode like a dump truck...

Best ‘beefy’ tires for mostly on-road driving

Stock rims. 2.5" leveling kit in front only. No rubbing. Noticeable hum 20+mph but it's like white noise now. $630 delivered from PriorityTire.

MRC Front Shocks Leaking - My Options

I know, but it still rides rougher than my brother in law's 2015 XL Denali and our company's 2018 Tahoe Premier. I've convinced myself it's due to the spacers and 33's. Indeed, worth the extra few hours to me I spent to get it done.
