Next time you shut it off while hot at night, look under the hood and under the vehicle with a flashlight. It helps me find leaks because of the steam.
I recently experienced the same issue, also my cruise control didn't work. I replaced the Brake light switch on the Brake Pedal. Mine (2009 Yukon SLT) has adjustable pedals and the GM part# 25981009 cured it.
Make sure there is no restriction to the incoming air, leaves, pine needles or other debris. If it can't draw air in, it can't blow it out. If yours has a cabin air filter, change it.
Go through the procedure in your owners manual to re-calibrate the key fob. If you don't have an owners manual, you can download one from GM or several other sources.
