I just now got notified of your posts. Only a month late lol. I may be exaggerating how slow it shifts. It's not all that slow just not as quick and firm as I would like. The first thing that would indicate worn clutches is obviously dark and burnt smelling fluid. Nothing there. I changed it at...
So my 14 Tahoe is a slick suv. Love the thing. Just a couple things I genuinely hate though. First is the AFM which is easy enough to solve with a tune. Second is the awful shifting these things have. I got 61k on this thing and bought it at 48k. The shifting is so slow under light throttle it's...
No leaks at all on this thing. That's why I'm concerned. My wife and I tend to drive it conservatively. Average mpg is 17.3 last time I looked. I mean every now and then I do rev her out a bit cause of cause I like the sound too.
I feel like the catch can, while useful for keeping oil from fouling plugs and causing valve buildup, Is a band aid to the problem. I want to keep the oil I put in, in the engine. I only go 7500 miles with amsoil. I'm not running it too far.
That is the one I was looking at. Seems like a quality unit. I like the drain petcock. Did you just cut the fittings off the hard line and hose clamp them onto the supplied rubber line?
What moroso did you get? I would be happy to spend 100 to 150 or so on a quality piece. I was looking at the moroso air/oil separators and they look like a nice unit.
I didn't look too close but typically PCV's feed in before the throttle body. Is that how it is on these? Not a GM guy so the 5.3 is all new to me. If it feeds in before the throttle body I'm good. The throttle is very very clean.
Using amsoil I feel confident taking it to the factory 7500 miles between changes. The oil itself has almost 5k on it and is still very clean and has good viscosity.
Well last week I checked the fluids as I have done Every week since buying this thing and found it to be about half a quart low. Seemed odd. Have owned it for a few months and about 8 thousand miles. hasn't burned a drop until now. After jumping on here and researching I found that the PCV...
Everything looks good man. I have zero concerns about ball joints and everything moves without binding. Ride is real close to stock. Very smooth still.
Both sides are the same trimming just opposite. You can see where I took the screw from the original location on the support and moved it over the secure the inner liner. It's hard to get a picture but I have about 1/4 inch if not a tad more clearance at full lock and throughout the whole...
Vision manx 2 overland wheels. 17x9 +18mm offset. Tires are toyo open country at3's in a 285/70/17. I still haven't got any pictures of my trim job. It's not pretty but had to so they would clear. I might see about getting new liners and doing it a little different. First time I have ever had to...
Ok got the wheels and tires on. Looks badass. With the +18 offset over the factory +34 (I think) I had to do some heavy trimming. I still need to do some minor touch up trimming so I'll post pictures of my less than impressive trim job when it clears completely.
Quick update. I got the wheels and tires but they sent me the wrong lug nuts. I got the spiked lugs instead of the splined ones. They were really easy to work with and got the right ones sent out immediately. I'll hopefully get those in the next couple days and throw the wheels on.
Ok I got the ccm kit on yesterday. As for ease of install, it wasn't bad at all. The only thing that the instructions didn't have that I ended up needing was a coil spring compressor. not a big deal. Took me about 5 hours to do working at a easy pace and having to run to town to get the spring...
