My front gold and black bowtie was NOT held on by two 10mm nuts. It just had adhesive on it holding it to the chrome piece that is part of the grill shell and two guide pins. All i had to do was use adhesive remover and fishing string.

Did you buy your truck used? Sounds like someone may have modded something. Were there holes in the chrome grille backing?

Yea there are three holes total in the chrome piece. The guide pins went in two of them.

The post are behind the chrome part of the rear bowtie correct?...Can you use fishing line just to remove the gold part of the bowtie and leave the chrome still attached?..
