02 Tahoe, 5.3l Okay to drive with exhaust off?

Ive got an 02 Tahoe with 5.3l


Long story short... needed cats. Bought one of those ready to install kits, which connects to header flange back to muffler.

Turned out to be ********, like I suspected, but I was lazy and cheap... hahaha


So thinking about taking the existing exhaust assembly to an exhaust shop and having them put cats in & reinstall...

Any harm in driving 5 miles with open headers? Other than being loud as hell of course.

Yea, I would not either. That will cause a ruckus and maybe get you pulled over. Bite the bullet and have it towed and even ask if the exhaust shop will share part of the tow bill or pay all of it, it is close after all, for the guarantee of the work going to them.

Im just done ******* with it. Im too old for this back and forth shit.... mostly just pissed because I knew I was shooting myself in the foot buying this setup but I did it anyway

If I was going to put it back in I might was well just take the pipe in and have them do the cats, go home and reinstall.
