Hi everyone- My buddy has a Yukon Denali and is experiencing stalling at intersections. I asked him the basics- last time tuned up, wires changed, fuel filter etc. He's done all of that in the past year- so I figure IAC pretty much off the bat. I just looked up his engine and see that the IAC is part of the throttle unit. As I own Fords and have only worked on my Explorer, Ranger and Mustang (no disrespect to my GMC colleagues! :) ), and those IACs come off easily for cleaning, my question is if you remove the throttle body on the Yukon, does that allow access to the IAC for cleaning? I can't imagine you have to replace the whole throttle body in order to address a dirty IAC- or do you?

Thank folks!
Steve

its two torx screws and located usually on the driver side of the throttle body , if you unplug it and start the truck it will start at 1000 rpm idle and will raise up until you shut it off that's how you know you have the right thing, I just did mine today and it took maybe 15 min I just took it out wiped it down ( had a lot a lot of carbon buildup ) then sprayed the plunger with brake clean to get it all out but I did not spray around the electrical connector so watch out....

Before you do that I would get MAF cleaner at the parts and follow directions for MAF cleaning. I would then use carb cleaner and clean the throttle bore at the plate closing area and check for any play in the throttle plate bushings.

I thought I posted this already, hopefully not double posting.

Thanks for taking the time to respond guys. I just want to be sure I'm on the same page. I haven't seen his vehicle yet, so I'm just going off of internet pics for his vehicle. The IAC doesn't look detachable, it appears to be part of the throttle body itself. Am I correct on this? Apologies again, I don't know the GMCs like I do the Fords, and I haven't had a chance to go look at his engine yet.

Thanks in advance!
Steve
