I have to disagree with that. Show me some links where the o ring suddenly starts failing and they didn't just replace the pump. And explain how that happens. They don't just start disentegrating, they're rubber. I took mine out at 150,000 miles and it looked new. It happens when they get pinched during install because it's hard to get the pump aligned without dropping the pan and people don't want to drop the pan.

Seriously... I've never seen one fail. They break upon removal occasionally but that's it.

It looks like your pressure is fluctuating by like 3 PSI... I'd think it's just the stepper motor. I've never noticed that happening.

If the o-ring was to somehow tear, you'd have zero or very little oil pressure. If the pump was dead, you'd have no oil pressure.

If you had very low oil pressure, you'd be looking at a clearance issue (rods, mains or cam bearings).


Otherwise, I wouldn't lose any sleep over it.
