Recently my Yukon has started making an electronic buzzing type noise. It seems to occur randomly; I cannot reproduce it on demand, neither can I get it to stop other than stopping the vehicle.
Here are some details, below is a link to a recording I made.
1. The noise only occurs when the engine is running faster than idle.
2. The pitch of the noise never changes.
3. The noise is coming from somewhere behind the glove compartment (I've fully opened it, but cannot locate the exact source).
4. The noise seems to occur more often when it is very hot 95+ F.
5. Sometimes the noise pulses on and off very quickly, other times it is constant for 30 seconds to minute.
Any ideas?
