Definitely post back because I am super interested in what you mechanic has to say. When do you think you'll know by?

well, i talked with the shop today & they said it was definitely my pinion bearings. i forgot to specifically ask him about the driveshaft. but he called & said that the pinion bearings were definitely the problem. i have not picked it up yet b/c he is putting the spacers, torsion keys, & new shocks on. i will pick it up sometime next week & i can drive it so i can verify the noise is gone.

that kit is the same thing i believe he installed. i just picked up my truck tonight (well, last night) and it sounds great. he was saying that there was nothing externally indicating that the bearings were bad. but when he did a differential service, he saw metal in the fluid. it's great not hearing that noise anymore. i'm hoping there are no other problems, b/c my account is tapped out now, lol.

That is GREAT news! Only $115 for the ring and pinion and then the install. What did the install cost you and how long does it take to install?
