Also got a 05 lower lip. Been wanting one for awhile but haven't checked anywhere. Then it just randomly popped up on a local fb gm parts page.
Test fit

Actually looks good with the plastidip front.

So there's no pre drilled holes or mounting harware for these things and I'm guessing the 05 lower valance already has them. So anyway with my 03 I drilled and zip tied where the bolts are suppose to go. Again temporary. The ends are bolted down. The valance I have now has a hole in the front cause the previous owner had a reciever hitch wiring 5 prong plug in the front. You can see the hole on the drivers side next to the licence plate. I have another new valance in the garage I'll sand and paint for a later date.

Don't worry I used heavy duty zip ties lol
With the right theme and style of the truck it gives it a lower appearance and meaner look up front.

Big difference in look. Not bad for $30 and two red bulls lol. Guy was asking $40

That lower lip was one of the best 60 bucks I ever spent on my 04
I agree, transforms the front more than one would expect. Like I said I've always wanted one and knew they looked good but didn't realize till I installed mine. ;)

Ok had everything set up and routed just not tapped for power.

20160705_233851.jpg

Went to tap into the harness and find the dim switch and it ended up being the first wire I picked (that never, never, never happens). Lol

When it's one wire and a simple low voltage part like two 194 leds I just splice in like this. Quick easy and simple.

Fyi this is how I tapped into the harness under the dash for the footwell lights

Was gonna just tap into the radio illumination but I just did it this way so it only comes on at night with the headlights.

Traded a local guy straight across. My all chrome lt tahoe grille (currently plastidipped) for his silverado w/t grille. Looks good. Silver bar matches the wheels.

Mine was over all in better shape but I'm glad I didn't have to buy a new grille. These are hard to find. And makes it waaayyyy easier for paint later on so I'm very happy :)

Getting new grille ready for billet inserts. Not a big fan of billet but it's definately better than stock lol. So cleaned up the inserts for plastidip .

Did the same to this grille as the last one. Drilled out the plastic welds holding the stock insert.

You can see the other welds holding the center bar and also bowtie to the grille frame.

Anyway by doing it this way I was able to jb weld my last grille back together when I traded. Leaving me to keep my billet inserts for this grille.

Cleaned up pretty nice. Anyway had some white reflective tape left over from my turn signals and decided to see how that looked on the grille instead of the blue.

No flash

Wish I had a white , silver, or black truck so I could try out all the colors (green, red, yellow, exc). But only white and blue works with my blue body. Trying silver next. But gotta find it. The shop I got the white and blue from don't carry silver.

Is that seriously how you plan on leaving your connection for the cupholder LEDs? I hope that's just temporary. And I could have told you that it was the brown wire with the off white stripe on it had you just asked me, lol. Its the same color in the radio harness as well. And did you put two of those lights under each seat? Or just one light on the outer side (door side) of each seat? Maybe I missed it before, but what year Volkswagen Passat did you get these light housings from?

Just one light under each seat on the door side shining inwards. There wasn't much room on the other side for the particular housing Im using. The housings are from a b6 passat (2006 body style)
And what's wrong with my connection? I didn't think about asking you, but I should've lol.
I just wanted to make sure they only came on with the headlights and not the radio illumination. I didn't want them on during the day. Unless I'm confused here. I'm just making all of this up as I go lol:elephant:
