Oh so there are actually ones called ford keys? I thought that was just a general term used for them.

"Ford keys" are torsion keys that are off a Ford. They fit and are indexed differently giving the most crank. The reason they are so popular is they are rather cheap compared to the name brand kits offering the same thing. Back in the day you could get them from the Ford dealer for about $60 a pair.

The rough country ones do offer slightly more crank than stock but not 2.5-3". Lots of guys have claimed success of 2-3" with the eBay kits.

So the ones from the Ebay seller are the right ones for the 1-3" of lift? I just want to make sure so I don't get the wrong ones.

I appreciate all the help on this thread. What sucks is that a friend of mine came to me the other day and he has a good deal on some 22's with tires. Now I have to figure out if this thread is going to help or not. If I do decide to go this way at least I have the info.

Well I decided to go with the keys I got and if me and my buddy measured right and installed them right we got a lift of 3"s out of the keys. When we were taking them off we marked the bolt and when putting the bolt back with the new keys we put the bolt back to the factory spot, is this the correct way? Is was way easier than either on of us expected.

No need to put it back where it was stock. The luxury of having torsion keys is they are adjustable. You can either tighten your bolt and it will lift, or loosen the bolt and it will lower the front. The more you tighten, the stiffer the ride will get, and the more you loosen, the softer it will get. I suggest you install the rear spacers, and adjust the front to match to your liking. Then get an alignment so you don't eat your tires up.

We're gonna install the rear spacers and set the front where I like it. The tires I have on it now are done so I don't have to worry about making them much worse over this week.

I'm digging the end product. I'll have to get measurements and post em. I ended up getting 285/75R16 tires.

Looks great! Makes me want to lift mine back up...having to put it on hold until I move into my new place.
