07 08 calipers different part numbers?

Been doing research on a brake upgrade. I've noticed that the 07 brake calipers usually have a different part number than the 08-09 calipers. The Powerstop kits have divergent numbers, the prostop calipers have different numbers too. Jegs and Summit offer different kits for the 07 than for the 08 and newer... Any idea why? Are the 08 and newer calipers better?

The whole story is that I am doing the GMT900 brake upgrade on my 06 'nail...

Lots of reading already done, haven't seen discussion of caliper differences....

So you want to put NNBS brakes on a 06 model?

Or you are looking for a brake kit for a NNBS to put on a NBS?

Putting NNBS brakes on NBS.

If I find an economical NNBS kit, I might use it. Pep Boys quoted me $225 for a Powerstop kit for an 07 Yukon with pads, calipers and slotted/drilled rotors...

Honestly I can really say how much of an upgrade that really is. There are brake kits out from Wilwood, EBC, Baer and so on. I would save up for a set of those.

Yup, I did it on my 05 and it was pretty substantial in the stopping department.

Now I just need to see if I can upgrade the rears on my 07 to the 06 brakes. The 07+ models went to a single piston caliper and smaller rotor. Not sure why they did that. My 05 felt like it stops faster than my 07 does.
