I did the carbon filter about 1.5 years ago. According to my velometer I lost about 20% air flow, no big deal since they blow so hard anyhow.
Last month I could tell it was starting to blow less. Pulled it and it was quite clogged with AZ dust and debris. Dirty filter vs clean was 30% airflow delta. Nice and strong again but not as crazy as without filter.

20%-30% huh? Thats fairly significant. Reminds me that it is probably time to replace mine actually.

I haven't installed this cabin air filter kit yet but I am thinking of using a Dremel oscillating saw when I finally decide to order the kit... seems like it would work well.

Did this tool work good for you?

I would not use a dremel at high speed on this. Having dremeled plastic things in the past it will melt and or be very difficult to control, especially in an area with limited access. I have no doubt that it would be able to cut it, but I do feel that there are better tools for this modification. At lower speeds with some caution I am sure it would work fine.

I used the Dremel with a cutoff wheel and a right angle chuck, and it worked fine for me. It is true that there is some melting that needs to be touched up slightly with a file, before completing the job.

This is the the type of tool I am referring to...

It uses blades like this...

Which can be rotated, or clocked, to varying angles in relation to the tool's body for getting into tight areas.

The blade just oscillates back and forth, it doesn't rotate like a normal dremel and cutoff wheel, you can even adjust the speed at which it oscillates.

I used it when I cut out some of the dash behind the HU when installing the Kenwood in the Burb... it works great and cuts through like butter.
