07 Tahoe Intro

New to the Chevy community iv always said if I were to get anything it would be a Tahoe Z71 or alike. I'm in process of getting me a white 07 Tahoe LT 4WD with 95k miles solid condition. Black leather interior, tow package, factory 20" wheels. There's more but I'm sure most of you can put those together. All I have is the dealer picks at this point and will upload some other when I receive the truck.

This being my second Chevy since 2009. I had an 01 Z71 1500 Truck for about a year until I sold it. I am unfamiliar with the accranyms that I have been seeing in this forum for the different models of Tahoe/Yukons. I'm sure I'll learn eventually.

No real big things to think of yet that I will be doing at this point for mods other than installing brackets for third row seating and also the seat obviously.

Side note, what's a good price to pay for a third row seat and brackets I'm looking at some right now for 450 and they are cloth I really need leather but with where I live my options are limited as is.

On eBay cloth goes for 300-450 and leather can go up to 650-700. Check with a local junkyard, that's where I got my leather ones for 250 and welcome to the forum! Obs is old body style (gmt 400 )and is 1991 1999/2000, nbs new body style (GMT 800) is 2000-2006, 2007-2014 is new new body style nnbs(GMT 900) and 2015+ is either new new new bodystlye nnnbs or k2xx

Thanks for the replies, I was looking at a set of seats on the mainland and almost got them but i passed them up. They were out of an 03 model Tahoe and cloth and not black in color. I feel that I may get lucky get the set i actually need so I wold not also have to reupholster them later on down the road. He was wanting 450 for them so that sounds about right after looking at them online and what you said. Seeing as I have about a year and half till I really need the seats maybe I can get lucky.

new new body style huh?, HA kind of sounds like someone just said that one day and it just stuck. Im guessing the GMT 900 is code from the manufacturer?

I will try and get some other pics posted eventually. But its a stock LT from what I gather so far nothing special. Unfortunately I will not be able to get the truck until the 20JAN so Im in limbo right now. I had to do the whole deal over the phone, emails, and text message. It worked out good and I was able to get my cousins at the AFB on the mainland to test drive and take a good look at it for me today. He was impressed and he is as picky as I would have been on it. The biggest thing he could find on it was the cracked dash which seems to be a common issue with these. He said it was small crack right at the airbag if i remember correctly, so if its in the same place as the pics iv seen then Im not too worried about it. One day ill look into doing a cap since I have read that people replacing the whole dash only to find it crack on them again a few months or a year or so down the road. The cap seems more reasonable to me.

In all I feel that this was a good deal for the truck. I got it under KBB value and the dealer was a private seller new shop and seemed like a good guy. Hard to find good salesmen these days that are not crooks and just want to take your money.

Congrats on the truck! Mainland? Are you in Hawaii?! Lol I'm glad you passed on the third row seats because they would not have been compatible with you nnbs. If your looking for third row seats for your nnbs, make sure they comt from the same GMT 900 (nnbs) family.

I live on Kodiak island in Alaska. Thanks for the heads up on the seats ill for sure be looking for the right seats the next time around. I told him that I would check back in with him every so often and see what he has. I have a couple other places around that I can check but I really doubt I will be able to find a set around here locally.

Dealer said the Tahoe was picked up yesterday on its way to the ferry. With out delays hopefully it will be sitting at home after work on Thursday.

I just ordered a thrird row on ebay. Paid $560 shipped. However they arrived beat to hell because they were just thrown into thin boxes with no padding, not even bubble wrap. So now I'm dealing with a claim. If you buy them on ebay just hope they pack them well. The idiots are not only selling them for ridiculous prices but they are also charging $150-200 for shipping. Granted they are heavy and bulky but a lot of the dooshbag sellers will over charge shipping to squeeze out a few more bucks from the transaction.

I also bought the third row brackets from ebay. No problem with those, lol. I paid about 80 bucks with shipping included.
