Driven her 500 miles and carfax is squeaky clean so I’d say we’re off to a good start thus farI sure hope you got a good 17. There’s no way I would have gotten rid of a super low mile 900 for a K2.
If it hasn't had the updated trans fluid, get that done and you should be good to goDriven her 500 miles and carfax is squeaky clean so I’d say we’re off to a good start thus far
Fill me in on this. How can I tell if it has or not and what is the difference between the updated and non-updated trans fluid? If it hasn't had the updated trans fluid, get that done and you should be good to go
I'm not sure how to visibly tell, although if it does, it should have been performed at the dealer so you could request service records from your local dealer. If it hasn't been done, you may see transmission shutter and things in hot weather. The "new" Mobil 1 fluid solves this. The issue with the old fluid is basically the design of the trans cooler. Apparently it runs through the ac condenser and cools it rapidly. This creates condensation. The new fluid is designed to get rid of the excess water better. I read a ton about this problems a long time ago. I was ready to pull the trigger in 2015 for a k2, then to 2015.5 thing happened and I thought that was crappy of gm. Then the 8 speed issues (see revised fluid statement), then finally in 18, they switched to 10 speed and I saw very little complaints. Finally bought my 19 at the end of 2018Fill me in on this. the fluid they put in them till late 2018(? i think) attracted water, and the trans temp stays so low that it wouldnt ever burn away. ctsv would shudder a little if you were like coasting at 50mph or so and lightly get back into throttle. got progressively worse. dealer ended up changing converter and fluid to fix. been good since. not sure if they updated trans tune too but it seemed to shift 100x betterFill me in on this. Cool. Thanks for the info. I may just play it safe and have the trans serviced and request the Mobile1 fluid.the fluid they put in them till late 2018(? i think) attracted water, and the trans temp stays so low that it wouldnt ever burn away. ctsv would shudder a little if you were like coasting at 50mph or so and lightly get back into throttle. got progressively worse. dealer ended up changing converter and fluid to fix. been good since. not sure if they updated trans tune too but it seemed to shift 100x better
