hmm, just had a thought. if moving the PCV from above t a pushrod solved it.

And theres probably no covers like that for 99-07.5,
Im thinking move the PCV on older VC's by filling or covering the OEM PCV hole and welding on a bung in new location..

Wonder if they would sell...?

I suspect the oil going back into the intake is whats jazzing up the throttle bodies requiring them to be cleaned or replace so often. Good info!! Thanks!

How can I tell the current exist driver-side valve cover is an old or new version without removing it?

As far as I know you can't , they look identical from outside , the only noticeable difference is on inside .

My local dealer ran a Vin history for me to see if a dealer had updated it , you might try that .

Great post.

People should realize one thing However....

That part is is YEAR SPECIFIC.

Years have different parts number for the cover.

GM P/N 12570427 for 2007 - *2008

GM P/N 12642655 for 2009 - *2011.

So I can buy P/N 12642655 and put it on my 07 Engine?

Great info. I dug through the receipts for the 07 I bought last fall. Luckily it has been updated, and they also replaced a deflector in the oil pan. ??
