Has any one here sanded off the blue film on the gauge face of the esky clusters? I ask this because I put red LED's behind my esky cluster and they are very dim due to the film...

there is a write up on here of a member that did this ill try and find it for you but if one of you guys find it b4 i do chime in, also yours are dim because the stock back drop on the esky denali clusters are Teal/blue . so in conjuction to your red LEDs its probally cancelled out the brightness effect

When you say no gas gauge flutter, do you mean that when you take a corner etc... when the fuel is 50% or less it will stay where it should be for the most part? if so, how does the cluster make the difference?

I realize this. That is why I asked if anyone has sanded off the blue/teal film. Much like FSC guys that sand off the green film on the TBI trucks.

ooo okay! thanks sunlit that clears it up.... my gauges are all factory, only thing that may be going is the temp... but maybe its just a bad sensor/t-stat

when you change out a cluster, do you have the mileage transferred too?

laws say you have to in one way or another. consult your state laws and some cluster repair shops.

you do but its more to the fact if the replacement gauge has less miles than your vehicle im pretty sure adding miles to your vehicle is not going to get you in trouble i didnt care as it only added about 1k to mine i wasnt worried about it
