The Real Nor Cal !
I picked up a 14 bolt SF on Cl for $200 last night. The donor truck was a 92 2500 light duty 4x4 with 6 lug axles. Rear end was in perfect condition and just returned from a 600 mile trip. It has a new 3.73 gear set, newer brake shoes and drums. I got the top and bottom plates, brake lines, vent hose and e brake cables. The only down side is that it has an open carrier rather than a G80. I have a buddy who owns a differential shop; he said I could dig through his pull out carriers and find something that would work. If he doesn't have anything satisfactory, I may just install as is and wait until a carrier finds me. I have been operating with my worn out- non working 10 bolt G80 for the last year now and have had little problems with traction.
I gotta go out of town for a couple days and will post of some pics of the install next week. The 14 bolt should pair up nicely with my NV4500!

Post pictures because I'm looking to do the same swap in my 96 Tahoe. As for the newer trucks the 2500 Avalanche came with a 14bolt and will bolt in a Tahoe or Suburban they just have 8 lugs. But they do bolt in.

The 8 lugs is quite a problem. Needs to be 6. And there aren't really any 6 lug axle shafts that will work without going custom.

Also all the 2500 suburbans and avalanches are leaf sprung not 4 link on coil springs.

They don't make 6 lug axle shafts that will for in the h2 axle. You have to get them custom made. $$$

The Avalanche with a 2500 is leaf sprung? I didn't know that. Didn't some Escalades come with a 14 bolt?

Suburban and Avalanche 2500's were leaf sprung.

I can't remember if Escalades had 14sf's, but I THINK some had them as well. Maybe someone else can chime in who know's

I got back too late last night to work on it; Ill try to snap some pics of it tonight. After work I'm going to visit my buddy at the differential shop and see what kind of freebee center sections he has laying around.
