15 yukon 50k service and failing

Has anyone else had control arm (bushings) go bad prematurely, or have high pressure hose leaks?


I Dropped our 15 yukon xl off for service last week for oil change as well as a few other misc issues. Steering clicking popping, recall, and to check a possible oil leak.

So I pick up truck and this is what I am told:
-Tranny lines and oil cooling line are leaking and need replaced: $ $1,050

-Steering shaft is making "popping clicking" (they don't agree that it's the interior bearing fix that's a known repair" and needs replaced: $1,000

-Upper and lower control arms are bad: $2,500


So basically I take a truck in with 50k miles and less than 3yrs old and dealer is telling me that I need to dump almost $5k into it? Are you kidding? The best part is they act as if this is fairly common. Between the vibration issues, buffeting, (granted new michelins did fix 90% of it for the time being), rear end issues, I'm ready to part ways with this thing. unreal!

I'd say that's $5k to a second opinion at another shop! At that money, ask them to show you specifically what they are talking about and will replace on the truck while on the lift. If not, go somewhere else. Never hurts to get a second opinion.

Seems rather fishy to me.

well, the line leaks and steering issues are legit. The control arms being bad are the only questionable items. My bigger point is that these things are occurring on a 2.5yr old truck and dealer doesn't seem to think it's unusual and it's not a warranty item being out of the 36k. I'm in the process of getting GM to cover the costs, assuming the control arms are shot.

nope, oem 22 and 20" wheels and tires. majority of miles were with 20 denali wheels and oem size tires. GM has agreed to cover approx 60% (which is a joke) of costs. I am now seeking a 2nd opinion from a different dealer.
