Finally been working on this guy some. Got the rear brakes all buttoned up and ready to go. Moved to the front and can't get the damn king pin out... might end up pulling the axle out and taking it to a shop to press it out.

Here's a few pics of its current state lol.

Finally got that kingpin out. Took every bit of the 12 ton press, then had to heat it some to finally get it to move.

Also removing 2 leaves from the front to soften the ride a tad and drop it a little bit. Went front 8 leaves to 6 on each side. Will do the same to the back after I set it down and see where I sit.

@YukonXL04 why not swap out for an S-10 frame? Better ride and parts are easy to get.

I just want to get it on the road for now. The previous owner gave me almost all the parts to do so. I also want to get my detached garage built before I undertake any major projects. And they there's the good ole money issue lol. Hoping tax return time I'll have enough to build my shop, got the slab done as you can see the truck is sitting on it. Recouping some funds after that so I can afford some lumber lol.

So as of now the goal is to get it on the road as is. Much rather have a running vehicle to move around than trying to push it out of the way. Plus I think it would be cool to drive it a while as a bone stock 1950 truck.

My uncle had thay green canopy laying around so we went ahead and put it over the truck so we could work in shade.

I would think an S-10 frame would be cheaper than parts for the current frame but if the previous owner gave you the parts that def sounds cheaper.
