I just finished rebuilding the front end in my '98 K1500 Suburban and want to set the ride height (z height) correctly prior to getting her aligned. I found the torsion bar 101 tech thread and it was useful as I found the info to upgrade to the 959/960 torsion bars. I tried setting Z height as per the factory service manual but the truck had a visible nose up stance when I was done. I leveled her out but am not sure how much, if any, the LCAs should be contacting the jounce bumpers at ride height. My jounce bumpers are about 1/8" from touching the LCAs which seems about right to me. The free space from bolt head to adjuster plate on the torsion bars is currently 25MM on both sides, vs the manual's starting point of 34MM. I didn't know if anyone had a better reference I could use. Also I was unable to find a definite front end rebuild thread. Would it be worth starting this thread? I took a lot of pics while doing this project.

we have threads here an there about how to change certain parts but If you want to you can create a thread. Im assuming you will be covering Everything? Whatever you decide make sure to list out tools needed tourqe specs if any , and plenty of pictures. also include tips and hints Shoot me a message when your done and I can sticky it if its good. the more info and pictures the better.

Thanks for the .pdf. I assume D height is the reference for the rear suspension? Yes, I did everything. I harvested rust-free UCAs/LCAs at the jy along with all the fasteners & HD torsion bars and replaced the ball joints and bushings, then gave them a coat of POR-15 for good measure. I stripped the front to the bare frame and put in 2 new CV axles, then installed the rebuilt UCAs/LCAs, new inner/outer TREs and adjuster sleeves, new shocks, Stop Tech rotors & pads, new sway bar end links, and one new hub & bearing assy. I had already done the idler and Pitman arm as well as sway bar bushings so that wouldn't be covered.
