Erich777, As you describe it it would either be the orifice for the front evaporator or a screwy temp door or motor.

Do you have a refrigerant recovery machine and vacuum pump and gauge set to do it. if not have a local shop discharge it and recharge it later for you. Are you sure that is the problem. Have you tested your temp door to be in working order?

How do you test the temp door? I would like to do it with mine.

it is not really a test but just checking to see if it seems to work properly. For example say you just have you heater going say with the fan on high on the ricirc function off. When the temp control is moved to the coldest position but not on max, the air you feel should be about the same temperature as the air going thru the cowl outsideafter about 30 seconds. If it feels significantly warmer then chances are the door is has not moved all the way over and hot air from heater core is leaking in. You can do it with recirc on too. I t will alway leak a very little bit but not significantly to really notice without a thermometer.

Stresst....you should know that a/c system inside and out by now. Is yours working yet?

What would you say if I said I dunno......It's blowing cool but not cold. I think its the bad rear expansion valve. The orifice is taking care of the whole truck, I should have the replacement expansion valve tomorrow. I think its me as no a/c is ever cold enough for me. The one in my bedroom has been on non stop since april! LOL In all seriousness I sweat easily and today was 96but felt like 108 with the humidity and it was comfortable driving home from work. It seems it needs 20 mins to get blowing....

Im not happy with it at idle, I dont remember ever having issues at idle but we will see what happens after I install the new expansion valve.

the motor, if it is the problem,is on the hvac box facing back center of dash and is blocked by a structural reinforcement bar of the dash so the dash panel needs to be lifted up and out a little if you had to replace it. you should be able to see it if you look at the box and look up in the dash.

Wait,

if the Orifice takes care of the WHOLE truck, why is my (and Stresst's) REAR A/C so bloody cool while the front Air is tepid at best?

The orifice tube n' hole is used by the front evaporator only. The rear uses a thermostatic expansion valve. I believe at the moment Stresst has his in the wrong location at that would need to be addressed.
