I have a different brand car with one of these charging pads. Cannot use it because my phone overheats.

So, it is not the tray, it sits firmly in the box. The air comes from the edge underneath screen, that is not normal

Hello all, finally heard back from the dealer, the vents on the bottom of the entertainment system are by design to cool the phone while charging, the vents under the pad, according to them, were changed to overhead to cool the phone better while charging.
I'm not so happy with that design since it spills over on your knee while driving, making your knee feel cold. I may install a small plastic shield to prevent the cold air spillage
