1999 questions

why is it when i look for parts online for my truck specs never include my year:

ill be looking at suspension and there will a kit up to '98 then the next kit i find starts at '00?

IIRC 98 was the year they started the auto-4wd option, which requires a new front drive shaft for the kits to work.

and 99 was the body change for the pick-ups. not all the sites have it all listed correctly for the hoes/yuks since the OBS truck kit is the exact same.

a lift

ive installed suspension on an old pathy (longer a arms , aftermarket torsion bars, rear coils etc...) so i think i can handle this but ive never had 4wd before so i would be scared to F it up, my goal is just to clear 285's anyway so i prob wont have to worry about too much

im sure i can go on here if i need help, you all seem pretty helpful

looking at a 3" kits then? I recomend a 6" over the 3" kit. You will not be happy with a 3" kit

i wholeheartedly agree with you but...

1. i wont have $$ for that for along while : (
2. im always bring my dog around 90lb boxer
3. my GF would run over somebody first chance she gets

in the end it is your call. Might I recomend a body lift then and side steps to cover teh frame up, easy, cheap and 3"!

I have a big dog, a short wife too...she does not ever want to even sit behind the wheel of this thing. She said it was too big on 265s! she literally climbs in now. I have no side step either.

When I get a new truck I will body lift this one.
