Hey guys... I'm new to this whole forum thing. I bought a 2000 Escalade a year ago. Shortly after I noticed a chirp when I would take off from a dead stop. It doesn't matter if I gun it or give it a little gas from a rolling start. It sounds like I'm trying to be a hard ass and chirp my tires. It sounds like it's coming from the back and feels like there is a pull/slipping going on. I've had a mechanic that changed my Upper Ball Joints look at it and said he didn't hear/see anything. I've also had Les Schwabs look at it and they couldn't see anything either. I don't think it's the tranny. It shifts fine. Any help or advice is appreciated.

Ha, only if u got a rear mounted engine. Sounds can sometimes travel. you're sure it's coming from the rear it's got to be the rear end. Maybe a bearing seized up. Hard to tell without actually hearing the sound.

I think we both know the engine is not in the rear.. lol I'm certain it's not a bearing seized. It sounds just like when someone "gets on it" and the tires chirp. It doesn't do it when it's cold. Seems to do it more after it's warmed up. The tension rods are new, shocks are new, upper ball joint are new. The bushings need to be replaced but that's a different squeak. It's definitely coming from the back end.

Valerie, welcome to the forum. The noise is probably coming from the drive shaft u-joints, or another possibility could be the posi-trac rear end if so equipped, you would need to do a VIN BUILD SHEET check to find out if it was built with that option, or you could jack up the rear wheels off the ground and turn one side and see if the other side turns the same direction. If it does it has posi-traction rear end, which does require regular servicing due to internal clutches which can make strange noise if not serviced. Lastly, if the rear tires turn in opposite directions, it DOES NOT have that special option. JMHO and hope this helps you.
