Ok, I have a 2000 Escalade with roughly 160,000 mi on it. To make a long story short... I went to start it the other morning. It was turning over but wouldn't fully start. Getting to a point of sounding like combustion/seizing issue. But when the key was turned off and was turned over again it would go back to acting like it wanted to start and resulting in the combustion/seizing sound. I'm hoping this makes sense to someone because I'm at a loss to what could be the problem. Could it be the timing chain/belt?? I don't want to keep trying to turn it over and f' something else up. Thanks ahead of time for any and all input and suggestions.

You have a timing chain not belt. Timing jumping a tooth could cause what you describe but highly unlikely on a 160k engine. Id check for bad spark plug wires (Fire engine up in dark and look for a light show around spark plug wires) or bad ignition coils. Have any rattling valvetrain noise? But first I would look at ignition system.
