Hello Everyone,

My first time here but I'm confident that there are a lot of smart people here that would be able to help out. The stock sub in 2001 Tahoe is blown and it sounds awful. I was thinking about replacing it with an 8 inch kicker sub but I changed my mind because I'm about to be installing 2 10 inch kickers anyways so the 8 inch would be useless. However, I'm tired of hearing that despicable sub crackling sound. I don't feel like removing the rear panel to remove the sub out but I got a hold of the stock amp wire diagrams (for a 2000 Yukon, should be the same, right?) which I have included. I see 2 wires that correspond to the sub. If I clip one of those wires, would it kill anything going to the factory sub. I don't want to screw anything other than the sub up. All help is appreciated.

A or B in diagram 1 will do the trick.. to not permanently destroy the wiring you can also push out those 2 pins and tape them so they are outside of the plug and boom no more factory sub.
