so i have found a few guides on line for removal, but have only found the ones where the buttons are inside the wheel itself, not off to the sides.

does anyone have removal instructions for the type with the buttons on the side?

it looks like this

If I remember right, you have to remove the airbag. Once you pop off the airbag, the screws that hold the buttons on will be accessible.

Search YouTube. Warnings on battery steps etc...and all you need is a small regular screwdriver.

There is a small indentation on the rear shroud of the steering wheel on each side. Recessed in those indentations is a small torx screw on each side. I think its a T-15 or T-20.

i was able to get it. thanks for all the input guys. actually those torx on the back side hold the side/outer plastic to the wheel. once i was able to get it, airbag came off very easily, lol.

I know this is a super old thread, but all of my steering wheel lights are out. I can't find new switches anywhere... Any suggestions?
