Out of curiosity were you using 87 octane fuel? I read awhile back that is what you were using at that time.

Also how often did you change the oil and was your AFM still enabled?

Just wondering. I have 180K miles so this gives me hope.

very nice. I’m guessing full synthetic every 5k miles.
Thanks Guys: Yes 0W-20 and filter every 5k miles. I've only ever used regular gas. 8L90 trans had a torque converter replaced about 8 years ago. I do fluid and filter on it every year. I replaced cam and lifters 5 years ago. Still running stock AFM. I do try to stay on top of all the maintenance items. So far, i don't really think I can complain.

Lifters and cam replaced 18,000 miles ago.
Transmission temperature sensor harness and all fluid changes, kept up on otherwise. There is hope !!!

Woah I am hoping to keep my 2018 for as long as possible. I was not the original owner. I bought my truck in 2022 with 48k. I did have the passenger lifters fail at 79k & driver side lifters that ate the camshaft at 108k. I am changing my oil every 4k now and transmission every 45k. The new Escalades are not solid rear axle 1500 frame anymore so I am going to keep this truck as long as possible. I did change my leather seat bottoms and second row seats due to baby car seat damage so my interior looks like a brand-new Escalade. The body has not a single scratch or dent neither. My Escalade was never in an accident. I am OCD with my truck and any part that gets damaged or shows age will get replaced immediately. Does anyone else feel the k2xx is the last real 1500 truck SUV?

I personally like the k2xx styling.

Ditto on the solid rear axle change.

@tuffguy23 I just realized you average 40,000 miles per year. That seems like a lot of driving. Do you travel a lot for work? Any tips or anything special you do to your truck? Maintenance fluids? Things like that.

Not really. What does the older model do better capability wise than the newer ones? I have a 2015 but I don’t see any advantage it has over a 2025.

Does a solid rear axle do anything better than a full IRS? You get better handling, better ride, and more interior space with the new suspension I believe. Also the new ones can tow more?
